When you find yourself getting bored with your own life, what do you usually do to feel better? Are you the kind of person who goes looking for new things to do, or do you tend to sit with those feelings and try to understand where they're coming from and why they're showing up in the first place?
Given my long history with anxiety, how I manage it depends a lot on the day and the specific situation. If I’m too tired to even think, the first thing I do is practice self-care: I take a relaxing bath, have something sweet, and curl up in bed with some comforting music. But sometimes I get a sudden burst of energy, so I take the opportunity to go for a walk (crying a little if I need to) before heading home for my usual self-care routine. 🥹
To be completely honestly... I just go watch some anime or read some book or manga. It made me feel completely better.
I tend to sit with this feeling for a while, either to figure out what that truly means and what I expect from it, before going out of my way to liven things up again. I also fall back into a more social life, as it usually keeps me both grounded and busy.
