The anonymous question-and-answer format goes back to Formspring in 2009 — ask someone anything, sign your name or don't, and see how they answer. Formspring became spring.me, then disappeared. An open-source project called Retrospring carried the idea for about a decade, until the small team behind it could no longer keep it running and shut it down in March 2025.
We weren't ready to let it go. So we forked it. Revospring picks up exactly where Retrospring left off — the same open Q&A, actively maintained, and here to stay.
Revospring is released under the AGPL-3.0 license. That means the code is public — anyone can read it, run their own copy, or help improve it — and anyone who runs Revospring is required to share their version's source too.
