Hello, just wondering for the writers application: would fics written as letters between characters also be acceptable? And if so, would that fall under journal entry or be its own thing?
Hello!
Fanfiction detailing a letter exchange would fall under journal entry and we will accept applications which submit samples with letters!

When can we expect the result of application? Is there a discord server for communication? Thanks!
Hello!
We are estimating that application results will be sent out around August 22nd. Yes there will be a discord server. All chosen contributors will get a link to a discord server as we use it for our primary mode of communication.

hello, I'm interested in applying for the zine but before doing that I would like to know where the money collected from sales will be going. Thank you!
Hello!
All profits will go to a charity the Mod Team and Zine Contributors will vote on!

Hi! Sorry to bother you, I just have some questions about the writer applications for the Vi zine.
We have to provide 2-3 samples of what we consider best represents our writing style for the zine. Is there a certain word limit for these samples, are they supposed to be pretty brief or longer? Can they also be excerpts from fanfics or one shots I’ve already written like what is included in my portfolio, or do they have to be freshly written with the zine in mind?
Thank you in advance!! 🫶
Hello!
All samples should be 3k words or less. You can add as your sample an excerpt from your fanfic, but it should be possible to read it without needing a lot of context. Additionally we require among the samples at least one oneshot, to show you can write a story with a limited amount of words. Preexisting stories/poems are perfect, it's not necessary to create something new for your portfolio.

Hi! I've been trying to fill out the writer's application for the zine but am having trouble with it. I've filled out the SFW Main Zine section, and then also click that I want to apply for the NSFW portion, and once I fill that out it once again asks me if I want to apply for the Main Zine as well, so I click it, and I'm sent in a loop of filling out both portions without being able to proceed. Would really appreciate some help with this!
Hello!
We apologize for this inconvenience and have added an option that should help you finish the forms after having applied for both the SFW Main Zine and the NSFW Side Zine. Let us know if there are still any issues and we will try to fix it!

If we apply to more than one position (say a page artist and writer), and we get accepted, do we chose which position we’d want or would that be selected for us based on our portfolios and samples?
Hi! If you apply to more than one position, it'll be us who will email you and let know in what position you've been accepted to. Thank you for your interest!

I'm not an artist and not writer but I really want to participate, it's the first Vi focused zine I see, what can I do? Thank you for making this project, I will buy anything you guys create
We will be accepting writers and artists who can showcase their work through a printed format. Artists who create in alternative media (e.g., cosplay, woodwork, sculpture, crochet) are also welcome to apply. For alternative artists, we expect applicants to provide us with photography of their art that matches the quality of photography they would be able to provide for their final zine piece. Animators are also welcome to apply!
If your art is not suited for a printed format (i.e. music, podfic), we are unfortunately unable to accept your application. However, we encourage you to stay connected with the project! We hope to create a beautiful zine for all Vi lovers to enjoy, especially those who pour their time and love into creating for her in unique ways 💜
