but wait, if ys leaves the car at the hotel after he shuns jh, then why was jh worried he couldn’t go home? he didn’t think there were any buses and that’s why he called sh, right?

Jh called Sh before Ys shunned him.
The timeline is like this:
Jh confirms they have a mating bond and Ys storms out, taking the car -> Jh calls Sh -> Ys comes back and shuns Jh -> Ys leaves again via taxi -> Sh and Hj arrive, finding Jh in the hallway.
