i think i listened to so much pantera and type o negative growing up because i loved everything they represented.

i hated the idea of not being allowed to be who i was, and there was something about that music that felt completely uncompromising. it felt like freedom, even when it was ugly, angry or self destructive.

and yeah, there was a lot of anger there too. anger at the world, my parents, life, myself, whatever happened to be in front of me that day.

so from a very young age i connected with it deeply and i still love it to death.
