oooh so basically, taegyujun have a suite-style dorm, while sookai have a regular double! aka taegyujun get a cozy pack living experience while kai has to make the walk of shame to the shared bathroom after every heat. taejun share a room, so beomgyu should probably have a roommate too? either there’s a secret fourth roommate who doesn’t matter, they were magically never assigned that fourth roommate and beomgyu took over the extra space, or they got lucky and their suite has a double/single arrangement (idk I didn’t really need to think it through 💀). their campus has a beta/omega dorm, an alpha/beta dorm, and a co-ed/mostly beta dorm

oh yes, they are raising their babies together for sure…. they end up moving as close as physically possible to each other so they can bring them up like siblings…. anyway, I think Beomgyu is the type of parent who treats his 2 year old like a fully grown adult, Soobin is like hey it’s ok you can just start by teaching him to say “sad” instead of “melancholic” “heartbroken” “dejected” but gyu is like NO!!! I want him to have a massive vocabulary!!! and so, this tiny baby ends up sounding a lot more serious than most kids his age…….. Beomgyu isn’t naturally very parental (one of his original hesitations about having pups!), which means he ends up in a lot of one-sided arguments with the parenting books he tries to read… but I think it works out, however untraditional it may be! he and Soobin balance out each other’s quirks. Soobin’s parenting instincts kick in a little earlier (he’s all over Beomgyu while he’s pregnant), but there’s still a lot of learning for both of them to do….. Soobin is the type to come prepared to any event with a billion snacks and a first-aid kit….. Beomgyu is the spontaneous parent….. it takes them a while to adopt all the dogs they want, but they teach Toto to bark, so I think they’re doing great

1) the biggest challenge will undoubtedly be outlining! It's the part I'm stuck on now hahaha. First of all, I have to reread the 200k we wrote 2-3 years ago to refamiliarize myself with the world....... my brilliant friend Blue is working on a bound copy of HAW, and I'll be reading over the draft as a way to kill two birds with one stone! On top of that, there are all the other struggles that come with fic outlining... especially a fic with five POVs to keep track of! It takes a lot of color coding! The original HAW outline was 20k (excessive for sure, but I have a bad memory and need everything written down), so hopefully it won't be that long? 😅 I really have to think about where the characters would be 5+ years from the original story, and as much as I would love for them to be Happy Forever, I also need to give them conflicts! It would be a disservice to HAW, such a theme- and side conflict-heavy fic, to not include lots of little trials for them to overcome
2) A yeonkai longfic!!!!! omg!!!!!! There are two strategies to use to reassure myself, as someone who has a fic with 800 kudos and many more with less than 200, or even less than 100..... the first is that with a rarepair, you are absolutely 100% writing the fic that someone else badly wants to see in the world! With fewer fics to choose from in rarepair tags, you're absolutely going to make someone's day. Writing and outlining and editing can take hundreds of hours, and sometimes it's hard to envision the power a comment has through a screen, but making a real difference in the tags and filling that niche is a big motivator for me personally! Writing you're proud of always deserves to see the light of day. The other strategy... when you're posting rarepair fics that are constantly overshadowed, it's kind of like exposure therapy? You end up naturally growing a thick skin 😭 some of the first fics I posted for TXT were for Collateral Damage, my series of Star Seekers oneshots, which I knew wouldn't receive much attention... so I went in with low expectations, and wrote them 100% for my own validation (I really wanted at least one fic in every ship tag). That helped me confront my worries of posting vulnerable art only to be met with silence gfghjkhgfhjghj there are definitely still moments I feel insecure over posting rarepairs, including with my current taebin longfic, but I'm too proud of what I'm creating to quit. Having a chapter buffer also helps! If I'm struggling with motivation, there's something to edit and post in the meantime
