What's the oldest tool you use regularly? or the coolest?
Hmmm, that's a good question!
I think in terms of software, it would have to be the GNU coreutils, they're pretty old :v, but physically, hmm, dunno!
The coolest one I use regularly would likely be the Agilent PCIe analyzer I have sitting next to me, but I'm working on building a replacement for that :3c
What's your dream apartment/house/etc.?
Mmmm,
I'm a huge fan of eco-brutalist architecture, so something with a lot of exposed raw concrete and steel, but also lots of moss and vines and ferns and stuff.
Enough room for a nice dedicated workshop and office space, and to have a bunch of friends over for hacking on things, but also small enough to be cozy when there is not many people there.
Ideally somewhere that stays decently chilly all year round, I'm not a big fan of the heat :v
What's your least favorite KiCAD "feature"?
Oooh, that's a tough one,
I don't know if this could be called a "feature" but the lack of ability for projects to have more than one PCB document, it makes it more of a pain in the ass to design large multi-board projects.
An actual feature that I dislike would be the new ".history" thing they added, it makes sense from a backup sense, but when your KiCad project is already in a Git repo, now you have a git repo in a git repo and it's just a little annoying.
What is a revospring?
How did you find out that you are trans/ what cracked your egg? (if you are comfortable talking about it)
Oh gosh, it's been a while, I don't remember it that clearly, but I do know it was a long time in the making, and when I realized it, when I look back at how I felt before then it all kind made sense in retrospect.
But forsure, one thing was actually even just learning about it and looking into it myself more, then things just kinda started to make sense. It did feel like a giant leap at first, lots of self doubt and asking questions and what-if's, but in the end I'm glad I ended up doing so, and while now it doesn't seem like it was that much of a gap to cross, it sure felt like it at the time.
So sadly, I don't have a "defining" moment, nothing that suddenly "clicked" like an epiphany, just more like hundreds of little "oh" moments that added up combined with additional understanding things and being open to self introspection (which is really hard!)
Hope that makes sense ^^;
What makes computers fun for you?
do you like scsi because it sounds fuzzy
