how much squish is too much squish

Personally, I don't think there could ever be too much squish, but being able to modulate it depending on context would be important to that.

So I guess it depends!

Have you ever experimented combining caffeine with l-theanine? I personally do semi-decent with slow release caffeine & l-theanine pills. Remember to double check that it wont negatively interact with any of your meds!

I have not! I should look into that, gotta talk to my dr about possibly augmenting the adderall with something else to help with focus, because ough.

Can you list off your current active homelab / home server hardware? Do you still have that LTO rack setup going? You using your setup for anything more than personal backups & "Linux ISO" collecting?

So currently everything is idle because of power issues, but the list is:

  • Dell R710 2U dual Xeon servers (x4)
  • Sun Microsystems UltraSPARC T2+
  • 16-bay SAS JBOD (x8)
  • IBM TS3310 LTO Library + expansion chassis
  • Generic 42U 4-post rack
  • handful of misc FiberChannel switches
  • handful of misc 10/100/1000 Ethernet switches

That's just the server stuff, then I have a bunch of like, test and measurement equipment and misc stuff, but yeah.

The LTO library is mainly used for backups and digital archiving of things like keeping a copy of the bitsavers collection and such, yeah.

What resources would you recommend to someone with some prior experience in VHDL/Verilog who wants to pick up one of the python-based HDLs?

So! I'm biased and would say if you're going to be looking at Torii then try to chew on the existing docs and if there are any sharp edges and weird things or something is confusing then to just ask me! (as i'm one the of maintainers of that particular one, lol)

For any of the others, I can really only really suggest reading the docs and seeing if they have a support IRC/Matrix channel or something and ask there ^^;

What type cable do you think would be the most fun to bat around at 3am

Ooooh, good question, LC-LC fiber cables would be good, very floppy and string like, but something like an SFF-8644 cable could be nice too, mmm lots of choices!
