Oh! I love these questions so much. Actually, I have a few favourite books, and I always reread them. For instance, MDZS, TGCF, ERHA, QJJ, TBFYL. But if I had to choose a book with a quote that hit me hard and has stayed with me for a very long time, I’d choose this from Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things:
“When you hurt people, they begin to love you less.
That's what careless words do.
They make people love you a little less.”
I love this quote because there’s something so important and raw about it. It teaches something valuable about bonds. It’s true that once harsh words leave us, they cannot be taken back. They have already reached the ears of people and hurt them. When I read this book, I was very young. But there were things in it that I’ve carried with me for a very long time. So much that, even when I’m upset, angry or I want to fight because someone hurt me, I think a few times before saying something because the last thing I want is hurting someone. Sorry for oversharing anon.
But yes, another quote I like from this book is:
“History repeats itself.”
It repeats itself only if we allow it to. It does only if we don’t fight against something. And if we allow it to repeat itself, we’re stuck in a cycle we are not brave enough to fight against. So it will keep repeating only because of us.

Yes I speak Hindi fluently 🥹 (though with a slight accent - kuro said my accent is like katrina kaif 😭🤣)… Usually when I’m talking to bebo (nene) and kuro, I use Hindi whenever I can! I also absolutely love Indian memes and cuss words 😭🤣!
I can speak Hindi because I have Indian ancestors. For that, I’ll have to talk about the history of Mauritius, but I’m afraid I’ll bore you, 😞. But yeah, I grew up watching Bollywood movies and I love so many Indian songs! For example, Maula Mere makes me think of ChengWei now especially because of how CC loves WSW’s eyes and was captivated by them! 🥺
And ‘sha’ is the last syllable of my govt name, and that name is derived from Sanskrit. (I can understand a little bit of Sanskrit too!)
And actually… I speak six languages (well, 6th one still loading). 🥺

I understand that life gets hard, and isolating sometimes becomes a way to cope with everything we are feeling that we can’t quite explain to others. Maybe I can share with you that once, for a very long time, I used to spend my time in my room, not speak to others that much, couldn’t even spend time doing my hobbies, I didn’t realize I was feeling super down. But it also got better. I started forcing myself to stay off my bed by making it. I started sitting at my table even if I couldn’t do much. I would scribble, force myself to draw. I sat reading instead of lying down. And it slowly started getting better.

I don’t know if reading would help you, but I hope you give it a try. It could help you process your thoughts and feelings. You could also draw even if it doesn’t turn out much. Doodling is super easy and fun, maybe that could help. If not, music does too. I hope you find a little sparkle soon in any kind of activity that might make you feel better.

rl ot4 in bharatnatyam class would be so lovely omg! and i agree with you! shuai has probably been dancing for a very long time and took suowei with him, and of course, chi cheng and guo chengyu gotta tag along! they help them wrap the ghungroos, tie them, and they watch with such affection in their eyes as these two besties dance! mudras are so tough ngl, maybe suowei is having difficulties with katari mukha! and shuai tries to teach him by holding his hands and moving his fingers but suowei stomps his feet and the ghungroo sound gets loud but it’s so pretty so everyone gets cuteness aggression! but then i think suowei dances to dhoom tana from om shanti om! imagine his nakhre with that song! wouldn’t he be the cutest?! but also, given that chi cheng absolutely loves suowei’s eyes, wouldn’t they be amazing in ankhon mein teri?! 🥹 but i’m getting a crazy idea now, how about suowei as shantipriya, wang zhen as fuckass mukesh and chi cheng as om? 🥺

I would say, I have a few things I like to do for healing, depending on what I’m dealing with.
1. I sleep a lot. Whenever I’m dealing with something difficult, something I can’t have control over but which makes me incredibly anxious, I doze off. When I wake up, the heavy emotions are sometimes still there, so I clean up a bit. And while cleaning, I reflect on everything that happened and try to make mental notes on what to repeat and what not to repeat in life.
2. I crochet. My mind is never quiet, even louder when something bad happens. But it quiets down a little when I crochet, and this activity makes me feel extremely calm! So, I shift the worries to my needle and yarn and create something that makes me feel nice!
3. I say good things to myself and remind myself of all the times things got better when I thought they wouldn’t. And this is something I learned from my mom and dad. Because whenever things went wrong for my brother and I, my parents said positive things to us and made us believe that it could never be as bad as we thought it was. So I write positive things on sticky notes and put them around me. 🥺
4. I talk to my mom. And eat food she makes for me. Makes my healing journey easier.
5. I read a lot. Actually what has helped me since I was a child. Reading has always been my escape and my favourite thing to do. If I can’t start something new, I just reread my favourite books. Reading helps us find new perspectives, isn’t it?

actually my family knows that i like bl, i even watch series on the big tv in the living room, but don’t want my cousins to see the reposts for their own good 😭 they would never mind though…

plus i love white / silver hair, kinda waiting for mine to turn that colour, but i doubt it’ll be anytime soon, my grandparents’ and parents’ hair took super long to start going white! so i’m stuck with dark hair for now!

Oh! I am absolutely enjoying writing The Princess And The Jester! I don’t know why but it writes so easily! May I say I feel like the characters have decided on themselves? Sometimes when I want to add a specific detail I feel like I can’t move on until I get it the way the characters would like it to be! I also love the Chi Cheng from this one and I was telling my baby Emi about it yesterday!
But I have two other unreleased ChengWei long fics! One is super angsty and I am having so much fun writing that whenever I can! I love consuming stories that hurt like hell, make me cry a lot! So, writing like that is super fun for me! And oh! I am loving The Serpent Beneath The Rose as well! Love me a crazy Chi Cheng! Isn’t he such a great character? I love how he’s so goated when it comes to twisted themes but he’s also super layered which makes me an enigmatic character!
