THANK YOU FOR THE QUESTION!!!! uhhhhm this will show my age for sure but my first ever real fandom was for the jonas brothers 💀 i remember stumbling upon a fan forum at like ?? 12 and having to ask my parents for permission to sign up 😭😭 on there i found out that fanfiction were a thing and i was IMMEDIATELY on board shskdjd i was reading what essentially were y/n/reader fics (though at the time y/n wasn’t really a thing, authors would create a whole new character for the love interest lmao)!! i started writing a few years later, at around 15 i think?? when i got into one direction 😭 initially i wrote only in italian and on a site called EFP (italian ao3 essentially it was an incredible site and a huge labor of love but unfortunately it has been abandoned, it’s luckily still up but nobody is taking care of it now :((( ), then i made a friend who also loved writing and we essentially teamed up to write TEEN WOLF fanfiction together and that reeeeeally sparked my love for writing (i was like 16 at this point?), but i was still writing in italian UNTIL yuri on ice came out in 2016 and i discovered ao3 and i just HAD to join and try my hand at writing in english 😭😭😭 until then i had mostly dabbled in italian communities or was fandom-hopping a lot in the international ones but yoi was truly what made me realize just how incredible fandom is and how beautiful creating is !!! i made my first writer friends there and was very much active on multiple platforms, but MAINLY tumblr 😭😭 i had so many ideas and so much love and excitement to create and see others create! i love it here rn because i think i had been chasing that high of being surrounded by passionate and driven people ever since i left the yoi fandom in 2018 (to become a kpop stan no less lmao)!! hopefully i didn’t misunderstand your question? 🥺🥺🥺
