I don't consider myself a proshiper, so I wasn't familiar with your account, but a few days ago you were arguing with some accounts I follow, it was about Tana
You brought up something that struck me as really important: Tana is portrayed as a predator by racist writing. I read everything you said, and you gave me a new perspective on the character

I have to admit that I’m more familiar with the issue of racism in yj98 than in Superboy94, but ever since I read your tweets, I’ve been thinking a lot about how people justify the yj (especially the Core Four, an all-white group) being racist saying is just the writing of the time which always made sense to me, because those characters don’t actually exist, their racist attitudes weren’t because they wanted to be racist, but because the comic is more of a comedy and was written by white people in the early 2000s, and we all know what white humor is like :/

But that logic isn’t applied to Tana, I’ve noticed this is a constant pattern: when white characters are intolerant, it’s justified by the writing of the time, but only for them

When it comes to black and brown characters in particular, people have a hard time admitting that racist writing is the reason they act a certain way

And if there's anything you'd like to ask more, like the extent of Tana's victimization (Which i feel i failed to discuss more of during the argument lol) i'd really be happy to oblige, It's something i and many of my friends feel passionately about as We've done more and more analysis on the comic run (and more!!! we read so many comics we swear) as a whole.
It's very much a sad state to have a cast of characters be so severely dated, but only have special consideration for only some of the characters (and leave out the black/brown ones) Of course i don't want Superboy to be racist, or be characterized as such, but why should Tana also keep the characterization of being his college aged girlfriend when she clearly only exists that way in a comic that had a vested interest in creating Adult x Minor ships and fetishized her existence as first a Blasian girl and afterwards, a Black-Hawaiian Hula girl

It's genuinely been devastating.
Even before i made a proship account (I used to actually be pretty neutral lol!) that the comic's immense amounts of Orientalism is either further pushed (I've seen so many Kon headcanons that relate to him being Hawaiian (As in implied to be Ocean-scented, whatever that means!) or racially ambiguously Black without regard for much else about his or Tana's character, even outright bashing on her) or excused entirely. Bolstering it or recommending it without regard for it's racism. I actually never learned about it until JesnCin (who are excellent creators and very literate sources for not just Tana, but multiple other characters like J'onn, John Constantine, and Superman!) and reading the comics myself.

Hell, nobody's yet discussed about how Tana's death was premeditated by Wonder Woman #153 and Young justice #4, when Cassie's crush on Kon was written. Nor everyone's ignorance towards Tana's victimization and politcal imprisonment by government-sponsored Agenda being completely shrugged off. Or how ultimately, despite that cruelty, Writers have and will continue to drag her lifeless corpse through the years specifically just to gain a reaction from the white superheroes. I'm looking specifically at that one panel of Cassie mentioning Tana when she's confronting Kon about his protectiveness over her. Their entire relationship is founded on having Tana's corpse be in the middle!! As a bonding moment!! oh my god!!! What the fuck!!!!!!

Tana Moon's existence shouldn't start and end with her story penned as jerk off material, much less one that steals from her cultures (Both Hawaiian and Black american!) without any of the fake respect people claim it had for her within the story. And on that principle, I'll always consider her a child before i consider Kon not a racist.

Honestly not sure what kind of torture method would be most satisfying, Tana's mental strength isn't that strong. She's a reporter, with high charisma, but her naivete and lack of guidance is what really detriments her in dire situations. But also i think Tana being bruised or edged for hours is really hot too..

Kon finding what he believes to be Sphinx! Tana and then getting smacked around repeatably after being a dick and not bothering to learn how to be respectful (sorry for oc species slop I just didn’t know how to put this in a thread)

He'd definitely be too into it for it to be appropriate and make Sphinx!Tana incredibly confused and flattered (but otherwise annoyed, cats tend to really like their boundaries!)
