Hi!! Im not the person who asked for jdramas originally, but I'd love some more recs if you have them! My preferences are slice of life, little to no romance, and heartfelt!! Thank you in advance 💙
hii!! here are some of my favorite slice of life jdrama that should match 🫶🏼🫶🏼 (in no particular order)
- nichiyo no yoru gurai wa... is about the unlikely friendships and the love we find in the small things. it's a story about how joy is possible, a reminder that there's joy to be found even in the most unexpected places and the most hopeless moments
- brush up life is a heartwarming comedy about life, friendships and time travel. it's hilarious, clever and has SO much heart
- hot spot is silly, cozy, and clever. it's essentially about a group of middle-aged friends gossiping while the most absurd stuff happens in the background
- tengu no daidokoro is a quiet and sweet slice of life about connection, family and self-discovery. two lovely seasons that feel like the warmest of hugs
- koisenu futari is tender, compassionate and incredibly dear to me. it's a nuanced exploration of asexuality, love and the meaning of family (subject to change)
- fune wo amu is a beautiful celebration of language, of the immense power of words in the face of distance and time. it's incredibly beloved to me and my favorite adaptation of the original novel
- kashimashi meshi is all about the joy of a shared meal with the people you love, how the dinner table brings us together and warms both our stomach and hearts
- ichiban suki na hana is a thoughtful show about the conversations of four people who don't fit into conventional relationships. quiet, introspective and so personal it'll feel like you're sharing a cup of coffee with the unlikely group of friends while reflecting on your own connections
- juuhan shuttai! is an energetic and sweet show about passion, perseverance and the people who work hard behind the scenes to bring stories to life
- konto ga hajimaru captures the bittersweetness of young adulthood, friendship and the search for purpose. it's funny, vulnerable and deeply human
- the makanai is a gentle series that celebrates food, tradition and the bonds between women. the production is stunning and it's a warm comforting watch
