Are nsfw works acceptable for the written application if they have all the warnings/tags ahead of time? Especially for the 3k or less completed example.

Absolutely! We would love to see at least one safe for work example as well if you have it, as the printed zine will be fully SFW, but you can submit NSFW samples/pieces in your portfolio too, and tag/warn as need!

Are PDFs from ao3 ok documents for portfolio submission if they are in the Google Drive folder, or do things need to be reformatted?

In the artist portfolio it says 5+ completed pieces but then it also says sketches are accepted. How complete should the sketches be? Can it be a page of rough sketches or ate you wanting more refined singular sketches?

Hi there!

Your three samples should be complete works, plus two others in the portfolio. Other examples can be cleaned up sketches, including pages of character study/expression if that is something you do! So long as we can clearly see the majority of the details, even if the sketch is a little rough around the edges, those extra pieces will be accepted

Must our files be the highest definition or can they simply be, say, screenshots?

For your application, you can include a lower definition file if needed, as we know gDrive sometimes has issues displaying large file types properly!

This might be a silly question but liking other ships penalize you in anyway? I ask only because I've experienced similar in other fandoms.

Absolutely not!

There is a section in the discord to discuss ships, divided by the most popular (but we can add more if needed), so if anyone doesn't like a specific ship they can simply mute it. This zine is celebrating RadioStatic only, but if you play with other ships outside the project, that's wonderful!

Hi! Are redesigns of Radiostatic allowed? I can draw them like canon, but I don’t really have full pieces to show that since I don’t do it often.

Yes! You don't have to show samples of the characters 'on model' for your submission. Everyone's own interpretation of the characters are welcome!

Hello! So to clarify - for a correct application, all applicants MUST have at least 5 samples specifically on Google Drive, and Box Vox is required for artists but not for writers, and characterization matters but not headcanons?

Yes, your 5 samples must be on Gdrive. Box Vox is required to be shown in at least 1 sample for artists, as well as one example of Vox + Alastor together (With Box Vox or without). Writers may submit RadioStatic examples with present day Vox + Alastor.

Hi there! Just confirming- written samples should also have a piece including box vox, or is this only specifically for artists? Seems a little odd to only require it from one of the two.

Since Box Vox is a very different character (Visually) than Modern Vox, we have the requirement for artists/merch artists to show him in this form. Writers are not required to have a piece centred around Box Vox, but do definitely need to have at least one sample featuring RadioStatic! Whilst the characterisation of Box Vox vs Modern Vox may be different, personal headcanons are not a part of assessing these applications. We will be looking at the ability to create a coherent story in a limited amount of words, spelling, grammar, readability - and so on!

Hi!
To help avoid mistakes, could you please clarify the naming scheme for samples vs portfolio pieces?
For example, in the provided portfolio is it acceptable to have 5 files named "sample 1" (2,3) and then "piece 1" (2)?

The example you have given is a perfect way to name them! 'Sample 1, Sample 2, and Sample 3', and your other pieces can be named anything as simple as 'Piece 1' to 'RadioStatic Dancing With Umbrella'!

The guidelines and form only say one sample should be "centered on the relationship between Vox and Alastor"/"centered around RadioStatic." I don't mean to nitpick, but since the form says applications with errors won't be considered, is it true that one sample should contain CRT Vox (as in the previous answer)?

Thanks for asking!

These two requirements can be mutually exclusive if needed. We need at least one sample to show Box Vox, and one sample to show RadioStatic. If your RadioStatic sample is Box Vox, then great, two checkmarks ticked at once! But if your only RadioStatic sample shows Vox in his modern era design, then another sample should show Box Vox, even if he's alone!
