However, around each other they seemed to cause major mischief and more retaliation so they didnt think it was a good idea for the kingdom. They were really close growing up, and Lyon did have some feelings for her. But even still in a way he feels about other people, other family, he'd rather have a silly fling for fun. In the end, he cared a lot for Mathilde but knew she wanted nothing to do with that environment, and he even aided her when she escaped.
