Wuthering Heights being your favourite book, what did you find of the 2026 adaptation? And do you have a favourite adaptation of the book?

i was so afraid of this question when i got the favorite book one lol i hated the new adaptation (to say the least) even tho i haven’t watched it (and i’m not willing to do so). there are way too many problematic things about it and before my agony writes ten more paragraphs on its own, i haven’t watched all of the other films yet (there are soooo many) but they’re on my list. however 2009 version was mostly faithful to the book in terms of personality and energy (in my humble opinion). giedroyc only hurt my feelings when he cut off one of the most essentially important parts of the whole story that to me is when cathy first speaks the truth about her feelings for heathcliff. the iconic “whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same” is not even mentioned on the movie. but at least he saved the scene after her death where heathcliff curses her name “you said i killed you. haunt me, then”. 1992 version is also a good one (especially for this scene in particular) and so is 2011. unfortunately there’s a lot of misunderstood stuff about the book and more particularly the heathcliff’s skin color matter and the “theme” whether it’s a love story or something else. it remains my favorite book for more reasons than i can write about in here. but anyways, this book definitely changed my life completely.
