Sorry if this has already been answered but im very curious about cy and Lynns "golden years" so to speak. How do they handle their elder years? How do they die, who dies first?
The death stuff is a bit of a spoiler, so I'll just tell you they die on the same day. Lynn retires before Cy does, gets pampered, Cy tries his hardest to make her go on walks with him but ultimately, she's too tired and achey, so in their last years they spend a lot of time at home together, with Cy taking care of Lynn. His beautiful little silver greyhound.

Not to be another rando rambling in here (exactly what I’m going to do) but I always find the “what if Cy was trans” or “what if cylynn were vanilla” and the like questions odd because those all very fundamental parts of the characters. Like “what if Batman was poor and had two living parents” then he wouldn’t be Batman babe I don’t know what else to tell you!
I strongly believe the "What if we swapped out the fundamental building blocks of this character for something completely different" brand of AU appreciation comes from Coffee Shop AU culture, the Undertale fandom, and the general proliferation of AI in fandom spaces. Like what people want is a specific setting/concept, the characters really are an afterthought

I think while she'd never learn about Cy's preferences, she would discover her parents are in an """open""" marriage during college and completely flip out. Cy, who was her favorite person, would lose so much of her respect, and their relationship would be strained for a while. It'd also take another hard hit if Olivia ever figured out her parents are in a BDSM relationship, but I think eventually she'd make an effort to reconnect seriously by the time she graduates.
