Wow, you actually did it 😭. You really let them meet again. I swear, you have no idea how stunned I was, my hands were literally shaking when I saw the word French in the summary.

I read this story once, then went back to reread their one day in Paris fic, and then came back to read this one again before finally writing these lines to you. My emotions were honestly all over the place, it really felt like being on a roller coaster. It was sooooo bittersweet, and honestly… you’re always way too good at hurting and comforting at the same time like this.

It was such a relief that ā€œthe book that Doyoung had brought home, but hadn’t read the note tucked in between pagesā€ became ā€œI found it in the book he gave me.ā€ I still remember how hollow I felt with all that 'what could have been' in Chapter 10. But now I can finally feel my heart unclench a bit.

And then everything happened. Dy getting drunk, crying, confessing, giving Jw the bracelet and then remembering absolutely nothing. I genuinely felt bad for Dy while reading that scene, but now that I’m writing this to you… I also find it a little funny :))) Oh gosh, I should probably be punished for this.

The fact that the bracelet he poured so much love and effort into - meant for the most special person in his heart - completely vanished from the world, only for Dy to see it again right there on Jw's wrist, on the day of his engagement to someone else... I swear, there really are no words to describe the whirlwind of emotions Dy must have felt. Oh my poor little Dy… though once again, imagining his facial expression in that moment is still kind of funny.

I really, really loved idea of tennis bracelet: sapphire being Jw’s birthstone, and it having the same color as the tiles on the wall of love. That detail honestly soothed my heart so much. And the contrast between how a sober Dy wanted to give it to Jw personally, or at least on Jw’s birthday, versus a drunk Dy handing it to some random person he met and telling them to throw it away if they didn’t want it, as if the bracelet meant nothing at all. That was interesting. And then ā€œI just want my Jeongwoo.ā€ Like hello? What even is that? Why do you keep teasing my heart like this 😭

And the thought that they finally, truly belonged to each other - that they had already been each other’s before Dy ever became someone else’s (even if it was unlicensed and illicit)… at first, that really comforted me. But then ā€œborrowed heartsā€ appeared, and ā€œthat’s how it’ll always be for the both of themā€, and suddenly my emotions were in complete chaos. It’s truly something that will always sting and simmer deep inside Jeongwoo, wanting Dy
all to himself, to be his and his alone, yet knowing he never can be. That thought alone is enough to leave me breathless even after I finished reading ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Still, thank you to Minjeong for everything she did. She really is a wonderful girl, the best friend in the world, the hero of this story.

I love that Paris was like their escape, where they could truly be themselves. I didn’t fully feel that in the Paris fic before, but I definitely felt it in this one. They had to grow up so much here. And now, Montenegro has become their place - their little hideaway to be together.

Sorry for rambling like this, I really couldn’t help it. Thank you so much for this fic. I was honestly so conflicted before deciding what to write to you. Do you see now how badly you played with my heart? I’m completely serious when I say reading your fic feels like riding a roller coaster. Thank you for letting them meet again. A wish I’ve had since first reading the Paris fic back in 2023 has actually come true... it’s honestly unbelievable :)))

Oh, my gosh that was…a lot 😭 you were right though, they felt grown in this. Nothing of the carefreeness from Paris, and the childlike wonderment for the possibilities. In here we get to see them being forcibly thrown into an adult prison(adulthood), abandoning the whims and capriciousness they possessed just to fit into their parents’ mold of being perfect for their world. But I also tried to kind of maybe somehow show the clumsiness of Dy whenever he was with Minjeong. And maybe (I hope) that’s why you find it funny how his stupid ass couldn’t remember what he did with his supposed birthday gift for Jw? I don’t know.
And I really, really tried my best to mimic that, like what you said, hollowed feeling afterwards. Like, you understand why it ended that way, but also not, because there must be another way(!!) there is another way but how sure are we that it’s any better?
And since you mentioned the wall of love 🤭 remember what Dy had said back in Paris? Because they are now, unironically, still going from places to places—from Paris to Saint-Tropez to Montenegro—sprinkling, scattering bits and pieces of their love. Spreading their love around the world until it became so big the world itself wouldn’t have any other choice but to see them, to recognize them for what they have always been.
Ghad! I missed your rumbling ngl haha! It’s been too long since I talked about writing the continuation of Paris fic 😭 and only now i was able to finish it 😭i hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it (i was miserable, screaming, crying). Thank you for reading!!! <3
