ok obviously we don’t know each other i don’t mean this to be weird but what the fuck is in the air why is danganronpa coming for everybody. i got a notif a dr writer from 2014 i used to read fucking came back everyone i know has been getting back into it’s it’s so scary. i know it’s a million factors personal or external but it’s kind of funnier to blame the ghost of danganronpa does this every 5 years or so to the general public. it’s like persona ace attorney and unfortunately Danganronpa. are some sort of chronic disease that’s mostly asymptomatic until it decides to flare up again

not hatin on the anon abt the giving no fucks thing but idk i don’t want writers to have to change their personalities/develop a thick skin over fandom. i want people to stop taking them over the coals, actually 😭. this is unrelated, they’re def not saying this but ppl shouldn’t have to give no fucks for an entitlement problem to go away 🙁
no i agree anon. i wish i made that more clear in my previous response. it’s so unfair to ask writers to basically stop complaining about people taking them for granted. similarly, part of my “thick skin” comes from the fact that i have mostly been treated very well by this fandom. i get weird anon messages but those are easy enough to ignore. what would really hurt my feelings would be if people did the whole “screenshot and shit talk out of context” thing that kicked off this whole bit of drama. if people have been doing it with my fic, then i’m fortunate enough to have not seen it.

Just like to say your give no fucks/ personality is very refreshing! I'm seeing more and more fic writers being raked over coals by the masses and i just wish they would adopt the same attitude you have. maybe then we wouldn't have this horrible entitlement problem in this hellscape of a fucking fandom

i also thought about using merman but that word feels silly cuz it feels like the genderbent version of a word that exists and not a word in it's own right, and i don't like when words are gendered so i default to mermaid. but that also might've been a mistake on my part!! you said it didn't make it better to rephrase it in your head, but in general if i ever want to say anything to you where the word is feminine and has a masculine counterpart that is not as used, would it be better to use the masculine one? i really don't feel bad i just wanna make sure. different question would you prefer wings, tail or horns
hm good question. to be honest i think that this is something very specific to me and maybe some biases i have in my head bc like. through the character of fjord, ive become somewhat enamoured of like. sailors and sailing history. and folklore of the sea and such. it’s a quiet interest that i really need to invest more time into really. but anyways, i think i have created a weird gender binary where Sailors are men and Mercreatures are women. for whatever reason. it is QUITE dumb. but i don’t think it applies to anything else
