where is the line between making a rap video with elements that are a part of the genre because it's a genre pioneered by black people and when is it cultural appropriation? /gen because I'm not understanding the problem
Tbh for me there is a not problem. Idk if I have been explaining myself properly since I’ve been in a lot of pain today, but for me I don’t like his styling and it’s a bit weird but I wouldn’t go and say what Chn is wearing is cultural appropriation. A big example of cultural appropriation is a lot of the time harmful stereotypes. Like for example Tarzzan from ADP is a BIG example of cultural appropriation. Saggy pants, saying the n word recently, braids etc. It’s disrespecting a culture that is not yours which I don’t think Chn himself is doing. It’s not a good fit and it’s weird but I wouldn’t go the full length that it’s cultural appropriation, for me he just stands out and it’s not in a good way? The issue for Chn is that he is dressed differently than the members. But they have always been into hip hop and rap, even respectful towards it aka HOP.
There is no huge problem especially if you follow black stays (which you should especially for moments like these) the issue is when non black people speak up for us over this when no one really had an issue? Some people don’t like it and find it weird which is fine, but it’s more so one of those topics where if you are not black and this doesn’t affect you, don’t speak for us. It is OKAY to reach out to black kpop fans and ask them especially on this and I highly recommend it! To me there is just bigger issues in kpop rn then chn’s weird fit.
Sorry for rambling but the line between rap video and cultural appropriation can be very obvious a lot of the times! I do not think Creed is cultural appropriation at least far as I can tell from the trailer, if a video is cultural appropriation more than likely it’s just abunch of harmful black stereotypes in that video. Maybe one of them is forcing a blaccent, maybe someone who isn’t black has braids etc. anyways I hope that makes sense 😭😭
“mean messages” and it’s just someone telling you to stop putting your drama all over the timeline
I literally had someone tell me that I was exhausting. And Idk what you mean by “my drama” cause at most for personal things I complain about work once in awhile I talk about my stepdad and sometimes family stuff, it’s my account I have the right to talk about my “personal drama” unless you mean drama on the tl I wasn’t as bad as I was and I’m still very much growing as a person. Give me some fucking grace good lord.
Bell I'm sorry you're always getting such mean messages, you don't deserve that 🥺 just block and ignore them
Thank you! It means a lot I’m sure by tomorrow I’ll be better 🩵🩵
whenever theres drama your ALWAYS THERE
Block me then, I’ve been getting better at not responding and a lot of what I actually say goes to my priv. I have mainly been posting random shit and talking about my writing and tbh I do not count today as drama cause I have been at work all day and barely commented on any of it. It is not on me that you would rather focus on my serious tweets than the many ones where I am actually posting for shits and giggles along with my writing.
God, you're exhausting! Learn to have a thought without thinking everyone needs to hear it!
Hey you can block me btw!! And also I am a human behind a screen so next time if you want to be a bully you can dm me.
