do you like bigger groups or smaller groups? idk but its hard for me to stan groups with more than 7 members
it almost never works out for idols that walk out of a big 3 label - even if you sign with a smaller niche company that will focus solely on you the exposure and pr opportunities that the SM name alone gets you in korea simply can’t be compared
Well sure but many idols know this. Ten for example was never going to be prioritized due to being a foreigner so leaving and finding a team that genuinely cares and believes in him is 100% better than staying at SM where he will always be shafted.
It’s a gamble but it’s a lot easier to succeed when you aren’t fighting an uphill battle with people who are supposed to be helping you
the cutesy safe disney channel type music that kpop labels always do to appeal to the west doesn't land. currently pop stans want cunty energy
What do you think smnbg concept is going to be? Is clear they dont have a good creative team anymore considering rize is just throwing things at a wall to see what sticks and h2h is just snsd 2.0 but worse.
Armys and blinks setting up each other by using a black model and calling her slave? Every day they remind me of why I stopped consuming kpop in 2018-2022
Do we know why wayv was segregated once again and changed to prism instead of being in neocenter with the othwr units? It makes no sense to leave them in prism especially when they are so understaffed that its practically nonexistent 😭 i feel so bad for wayv
sm groups are no longer that popular in asia, you cant see sm artists except aespa and sometimes h2h charting high on spotify in asian countries, h2h is their first group that isnt popular in china and their recent comeback is charting in indonesia only
smnbg will debut with more than 9 members (i think they will flop in korea tbh)
hybe are so good at western promo and they've been doing it for so long that by now they've essentially created an easy-to-follow playbook to show other kpop companies how to do it, so the fact that sm is still confused on what to do is so bizarre
It’s not that SM can’t it’s that they don’t feel the need to cater to the west as strongly as hybe does bc they’ll always have the Asian market on lock and they know if they did theyd risk upsetting their Asian fanbases. That’s the biggest difference.
Also competing with hybe at this point is not really possible due to the near unlimited resources and connections they have. Yall forget scooter Braun used to lead hybe America and his pockets run deep. There’s a lot of industry politics at play as well
riize and nct wish are successful in asia, i don't think many of their fans will unstan cuz of smnbg. jpn fans are dedicated just like chinese fans
