I was going to ask if you might consider joining bsky, but seeing a previous msg I guess my question now would be-could fics based off the Fantasy AU Creator be submitted to the AO3 collection, despite not joining the bingo event itself?
I had qtwted the AU Creator when crossed my TL & had planned to qtwt it with an AO3 link when I finished it. But my account recently got suspended out of nowhere due to x's crappy AI & no resolution in sight :(
Hi anon! Only fics written for the bingo challenge will be accepted into the ao3 collection, as the fantasy au generator was just a fun side activity and not part of the actual event. I'm sorry about your account issues, but I hope you still enjoy writing the story, and thank you for checking first!

Hey there! Sure, you can do that of course, it's your work and there's no limitation! But only socmeds/thread fics that are posted here on twt will count for your bingo square (cause the event is not active on bsky).

If I were to write a collab fic with someone that has the same square on their bingo card, would that count for both of us? Or only one?
Hi anon! Admittedly, this is not a scenario I had considered, so there's currently no rule for it.
I think (assuming the fic is for ao3) to make it fair, the minimum word count for a collab fic should be 2000 words to count for a bingo, and the number of shared squares is limited to 1. Also make sure that both authors are listed as the co-authors on ao3 when posting to the collection (maybe also mention in the author's note that it's a collab fic)!

this might be a foolish question, but just in case! can a fic for this fest be a new sequel for a previously published fic as long as it fits a bingo square?

Assuming you're asking for an ao3 fic, then yes, it's fine as long as:
- the sequel is a standalone fic in a series with its own beginning and end
- it's a new work written between August 14 and December 31
- it's getting posted to the ao3 collection and also follows all other rules

Are we allowed to combine this bingo event with another writing fest? For example: if one of the squares on our bingo card is pirates and our prompt for another matz writing fest also involves pirates, can we use that fic from that fest toward our bingo???
Hi anon, sure, as long as the other event/fest also allows combining and your fic on ao3 is posted to the collection, it can also count toward your bingo!

Yes, of course! Even if you manage to fulfil only one square for the bingo, it's still one more Mctz fantasy fic out there :)
There's zero consequences for not finishing the bingo, so there's no pressure at all! It's supposed to be a fun and light-hearted event (though signing up and finishing at least one fic would of course be greatly appreciated 🙏)

Hi anon! You can absolutely use one fic to cover multiple squares if you manage to do so (for example, if you write a pirate fic that also features merpeople and sea monsters, you could cross out 3 squares).
Please just keep in mind that according to the rules, each trope/au must play a significant role in your fic in order for it to count (for example, if you write a pirate fic and someone just mentions legends of merpeople or sea monsters one time, that would not count and you could only cross out the pirate square).
