the horror aspect of it all is what makes me love it sm. like imagine,, mimiko and nanako huddled together in bed at night in their shared room, shivering every time they hear that Thing’s footsteps outside their door. they loved their adopted father, but this monster impersonating him scares them more than anything ever has. its favorite thing to do is make them sit with it late in the evenings and brush its hair out, like they used to do for their papa. they hate it, and they hate how it feels to touch it in such an intimate way that Should have been reserved only for getou-sama. it makes them embrace it when they’re upset, kiss it when they’re missing getou-sama particularly badly, sleep with it when they wake from nightmares. it breeds them each in front of each other, “makes love” to them, as it likes to call it. but it doesn’t feel like love— it’s gentle, sure. but unlike when they laid with getou-sama, laying with kenjaku leaves them feeling rotted on the inside. makes them feel just as dead as their father.
