Check out the movie Good Boy (2025, the British one)! Its other name is Heel because there are way too many movies named Good Boy, lmao. Won't spoil on its premise, but it's a decent movie and I think most Whitney fans would like this one. Although I would rather gatekeep.

Do you think Whitney is more of a dog or a wolf? I think dog suits him a lot but I'm also particular of wolf because of Vrelnir's answers plus there's a wolf villager named Whitney in Animal Crossing. As for a compromise, he could be a wolfdog! Female Whitney is more of a hyena to me than a canine however. Also, what animal do you associate with Corey and what animal TF would they have?
Is Fem Whitney a Hyena purely because of their society being matriarchal? hahaha
I think of Whitney being more of a feral stray dog, a wolf seems a bit too cool for their arrogant ass.
How their social structures are a bit different as well. Wolves are social animals but their packs are mostly family structured, so a wolf pack is mostly just a family unit of mother, daughter, kids/brothers/grannies looking out for each other.
Whereas what Whitney attempts to do, in their attempts to make a "pack", is surround themselves with fake ass friends that follow the leader (whitney). Whitney can quickly make friends with their bravado and have them follow them around like free dogs would, but here's no real sense of family within that group, Whitney just uses them for validation and they're quick to abandon Whitney as well once they don't find them appealing anymore.
What animal? Hmm.. someone compared Corey to a Borzoi, and I think it fits them. So probably a wolf TF, tbh.

Nope, Whitney's unique combat lines don't lean on the softer side, they're just boring. I expected them to be more mean-spirited. It's nice that he has different lines depending if the audience is present or not at least. Although a romantic within me kind of wanted him to be slightly softer when it's a consensual sex+he's alone with the PC+he's unlocked as LI. But Avery's lines feel more intuitive in comparison. I suppose that the writers had to make sure that Whitney's lines, despite him being a bully, wouldn't be offensive to particular individuals. It's a controversial opinion, but DoL has became weirdly moralistic and politically correct despite its content, especially with all those recent changes and 'fixes', and I feel like some people forget that you play as someone who's perceived as just a rapemeat by most people.
Well, that's disappointing to hear tbh, Whitney is usually the most entertaining for me because they don't really have limits with their mockery and audacity. They can practically trigger a traumatized middle aged man like Eden in the QnA, so a bit sad their role as a bully is being defanged a bit here.
I suppose this is the consequence of DoL being largely sandbox even within it's development team. Different visions, different expectations, different executions. It really doesn't really soothe my fear of Whitney being overly softened, with their harsher sides being neglected entirely in favor of his softer moments.

Whitney got his own unique combat lines this update and I’ll be honest, they’re boring. I guess I expected more creativity from the writing team since Whitney is an unapologetic asshole and, personally, very fun to write because of that, but compared to Avery’s own combat lines, there’s nothing really to write home about regarding Whitney’s.
Is that why I haven't seen much hype regarding their new voicelines being added? I haven't seen much of it myself much yet on twitter. But I guess it's expected if most of Whitney's lines ended up being on the softer side... There's not a lot of new non-con scene updates in general, which is where unhinged Whitney tends to shine...

I feel like that stupid meme “the greed they talk about in the bible” whenever I find myself wanting more Whitney content 😭 Eden fans are sitting in uncertain/future rewrite hell, Robin fans can expect an overhaul eventually, Kylar fans haven’t gotten SHIT in over a year, Sydney fans found dead in a ditch from starvation, Alex fans… seem content honestly, meanwhile Whitney/Avery/Gwylan fans have gotten the most content within the last year… and I still want MORE Whitney 😢 I’m never satisfied! Rapist Bully Simulator is how I enjoy DOL.
I just miss Whitney… I did like that he can steal your first kiss with a fish in the new update, though 💙 Shameless teenage boy is such a good character.
How did Vrelnir write such a fun and compelling character from a stock archetype as generic as “bully who harassed you because they’re into you and like power/control (whom may or may not be more than they seem)”? Whitney’s so interesting and I like how he flows together so naturally, as both a woman or a man!
I get it... If I were to be honest though, I think for Whitney they have a lot of content but are simultaneously lacking still because there's not as much content tailored towards other stuff in their day-to-day life (their relationships with their gang and how the overall town sees/treats them and their delinquent antics) I think it's easy to get wrapped up into thinking otherwise since other LIs are even MORE deprived in content, but all LIs are kinda half-baked in this regard.
I think Whitney's interesting to me because a lot of media doesn't usually expand on unapologetic rapists tbh. They're usually very one-off or just the reader's self-insert, or if they do get expanded, they're softened/white washed. DoL at least, keeps the idea that Whitney is still a POS rapist whilst revealing some deeper desires/emotions as time goes on (although I'm a bit worried they'll eventually soften this with some of the future interactions)

What are your own headcanons or theories about Whitney’s family? Regarding present parent and absent parent?
Also, is kid Whitney being hit by his parent in the latest sketch you posted?
I'm not too sure cuz I don't want to set myself up for disappointment if Vrel ever decides he wants a more concrete explanation for them. But, I like the concept that both of Whitney's parents are both alive, and Whitney themselves was a product of one parent's attempt to babytrap the parent into becoming a proper family, only for it to fail miserably and they split regardless. I think it'd be an interesting idea to explore Whitney having to unpack that they were made out of a twisted desire of love, but also meant to be used as a tool moreso than being born out mutually reciprocated love.
It'd personally add layers to me on why Whitney would be so damn attached to having the accidental kid they'd made with PC even though they were a complete accident on Whitney's side.
Honestly.. i just wanted to draw kid Whitney crying. Being hit by his parent was something on my mind but... I would've liked to draw the build up more! wahhh

Do you honestly think we’ll get future love interests? I want Wren to be added, as do many in the fandom, but I have no clue if Vrelnir feels confident doing that given how the Gwylan update was received… So controversial :> I think we’ll maybe get a plantperson soon but I’m not excited for that as I’ve already mentally placed them with BW/GH; existing to fill a fetish for tentacles/beasts and won’t be the most engaging character ^^;
I just wonder if it’s even realistic to want a new (human) LI… I feel like if it were to happen, it wouldn’t be until 2027 or later. Actually maybe even 2028. They’ll want to pump out stuff for the current love interests beforehand before they add a new fella to the roster.
If you were to ask me, I wouldn't want any future love interests at this point, +10 is already a lot.
Gwylan's update was controversial over a myriad of issues though, it came after being given a set of false promises of certain ex-devs claiming they were going to focus on existing and already planned LIs, alongside the fact that Gwylan themselves was (and arguably still is) somewhat out of place. There's also the issue of the fact that they couldn't fulfill a proper role: the existing LIs and even NNPCs fulfill a sort of sex niche/gimmick, but Gwy's rehashes a lot of the same old niches presented before, just in a different skin. Hence why so many dedicated LI fans had a sore spot for Gwy, this new LI very much attempted to be a jack of trades and take traits from all the rest of the LIs, never fully investing in their own supposed niche of magic sex properly, yet parades around as if they could supersede them.
For me, I expected more focus on magic things, particularly in binding magic like magic cuffs, magic tattoos, sacred magic vows, more bestiality elements with more focus on lurkers and slimes. Imagine my disappointment when Gwy's main form of control over PC mostly uses hypno magic like harper and is just a rehashed, softer form of it, there's not even proper gaslighting involved or interesting magic twists that come with being a horny all knowing fox sage.
And then, all of the contribs/devs who worked hard on it, simply lambasted the public for not understanding Gwy's vision, and the lead director for it, Pguy, couldn't even be loyal for their newborn Gwylan enough to dismiss the haters. Gwy was dealt a bad hand on their creation, I suppose.
Combined with the fact they're forced to be the author's exposition dump, it was hard for many of the older dedicated fans to be bought in by them. Newer fans of DoL seem more open to him, though I have a harder time finding the appeal.
Everyone would probably be sick of random completely new characters at this point though, that I think you're correct.

I wish Whitney was more of a threat… kinda related to what previous anon said about making DoL challenging, but more in general. Whitney has a 6/7 “toned and firm” physique but only has a health pool of 200? I know, in universe, the PC more so “runs away” when they win (at least at school they usually say that) but I dunno… Why can’t Whitney be more of a challenge? Why can’t they make school life ACTUALLY miserable, especially for us who have large PCs (not for the extra dmg but so we can let Whitney ride us like a horse) ((non-sexually))? I think if Vrel really wanted to make the “dismiss-able” LIs a challenge, they should make Whitney actually hard to beat in school! Let his friends join in the beating if Whitney’s health gets to a low point, if they don’t want to boost his health in itself!
Hell, at least give high dom Whitney more strength, as low dom Whitney doesn’t beat you much up anyways (which is so lame and not moe at all… where’s his abusive rapist charm at low dom?)

It's mostly an issue with combat in general tbh... Although I do wonder what should be the right balance for Whitney. I really do like their background of being one of the cogs in the machine, already having a rapist career and being feared by many of the students and even some of the adults, and I think it'd do good to reflect that if they made them more challenging...
I'm open to the idea that they're easier than their reputation suggests, simply because Whitney's image is built off from intimidation rather than their actual strength sometimes... but if that were the case, I feel like it'd be appropriate to give a better reason to go along with Whitney's demands. It's just too easy right now to just deny Whitney with little to no consequences. Maybe they can threaten PC socially or harass PC in other ways, make their school hell. Summon more mob students to go after PC because they spread around about how PC LOVES to sleep around or something.
Just ideas to throw around I suppose, it's hard to think what could be good for Whitney in future updates for them...

What would you personally suggest to make DoL more challenging, even for veteran players?
Remove pepperspray or make it even more rare, why give PC like 5 extra peppersprays at some point lmao
Nerf animal tf/punch punch kick kick
Nerf science skill giving absurdly high pain tolerance to PC
Nerf eng skill somehow also being a dmg source in fights
Nerf animal tf providing godly smh through cow (headbutt) and/or cat/wolf tf (bite)
And then to keep things interesting introduce certain NPCs having gimmicks that the PC has to watch out for.
Biggest issue is generally the wonky scaling that makes PC a god mid to lategame though.

actually though i am so glad that love interests are getting more specific focus… especially avery. they’re dear to me and i’ll never forgive them for the 5.5 <<>> update where you can KILL them. so cruel and so not within the spirit of the alleged “trauma simulator” if you can just kill your abuser and that it actually helps the world? that was so crazy to me and now they can give avery a hundred new lines of dialogue every update and i won’t complain as no other love interest is as spiritually cucked as them. the day vrel wakes up and decides to remove the killing avery option in the game, i will know peace (that will never happen)
anyways, are you excited for the potential student clubs we’ll get hopefully this year? do you think we’ll get a whitney christmas event, or maybe another character’s halloween event? that seems to be a popular holiday, mixing sydney in with robin’s halloween like whitney can interrupt kylar’s feels kinda fitting? sorry for the avery rant, i feel passionate about them for some reason. old man gap moe, as they say
It'd be nice if it were true that Whitney would get combat lines in the next update! After everything, I guess I can't help but be anxious about their future. Like you, I care deeply about Whitney like you do with Avery, so I worried a little how everything would affect them... And of course, Avery is becoming a favorite, because I think I appreciate how cute they are as someone who tries to be mature but comes off as immature hahaha
I'm glad we're at this point where we can freely critique the mistreatment Avery was received by the writers... certainly, they are a flawed rapist, but so is many of the other LIs, so it was odd and mean spirited to see them be bashed so thoroughly by the narrative. And certainly, dismissing them through essentially killing them and having the whole bravado of Robin and Bailey welcoming PC back into the mansion... it really didn't mesh well with the "trauma-sim" narrative that was being pushed too, it came off as shallow to me in some respect. I have to give my applause to the Avery contributors who seem to be working hard on providing content for them! I hope the others aren't mistreating them, knowing the atmosphere in dolcord was somewhat... aggressive, towards Avery.
The concept of school expansion does sound exciting! It's been a point of contention for a while, that school becomes useless once your main school stats are up, and there isn't much to do in it. I'd love to see the world building the other school NPCs/teachers/LIs mainly interact in!
Honestly, with how things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if we got an Avery halloween event! Maybe we could also get the teachers having their own halloween celebration too! Sydney wanting to go with PC on a halloween date sound so cute! And potentially good for more corruption events, since it provide opportunities for Sydney to act with less influence of the church and their parent.
