thank you for being one of the few ppl who has spoken against that app... seeing all the ppl on the comments pummping it up got me like ?_?
i think most ppl are just readers and new to fandom spaces and don't understand all the implications that go behind ao3 being ao3. as a writer, i fought with goodreads 2 years ago to get my fics down form that platform.
like this 'app' my writing wasn't there per se, but i don't want it to be anywhere except ao3.
ppl are already mean in public bookmarks, i cannot imagine how awful it's going to be in a 'private app' that we all know is going to be screenshotted and posted publicly like 😭
also, ao3 works in a grey area and works bcs there's no monetization... adding it to a store means censorship and they've just made a little update saying that 'maybe' if they're low on cash they might monetize like... hello??? (https://x.com/frenchudcon/status/2042708941382058109)
i want to tap out. i don't want my fics to be in that app. i don't care if it's just the name and the tags. i want to control my writing. if i don't have that control, i might as well delete my fics.
also, i've seen you can actually access ao3 from the app, isn't that going to mess with ao3 servers even more?
sorry for the rant, but apart from you, i've only seen a couple more authors express their disagreement
i agree with all your points. i agree that it is probably because the fandom is new, large, and mostly full of readers. hopefully they listen to authors and don't go ahead with it. re: ao3 servers, theoretically yes, if their usage volume is large enough. i don't know how they're going about circumventing ao3's ddos prevention (which is pretty strict, imo).

Hi! I love your workskin, it's super well made! I can't seem to be able to change the profile picture if I want to add another texting perspective, even if I add both person #1 and person #2 CSS into the workskin. What can I do to fix this? Thank you!

Hi! Firstly, thank you so much for this! And second, this may be a stupid question, but how can we add the name of the person texting? E.g. if it’s a gc and there’s multiple people, I want the name to appear on top of the texts like it usually does in messages so there’s no confusion. Is that possible?

hii! tysm for your template! i'm using it for a fic and the words in each message bubble are spaced really far apart for me. i'm not familiar with html/css so is there something in the codes i can modify to change the spacing? sorry if that's a dumb question lol, thanks again!
