I took some time out of my day today to go through allYuji ship tags and allMegumi ship tags to see if both get the same level of harassment and it’s unfortunately not even close. Idk what Yuji did to the fandom that they can’t let him be shipped in peace but it’s truly a wonder. That one anti that qrt’d you with only acceptable ships and put the rest in dislike or whatever. Imagine us being stuck only shipping Yuji with either Junpei Ozawa Yuta and Megumi and the rest is illegal. Like you do not like those ships anti you’re just as always forcing us to only like itfs and that’s just not gonna be the case for everyone so please stop trying to control every single Yuji fan in the world oml.
We can’t even mention him in the same sentence platonically or even just talk of the plot and the role he played with Gojo and Sukuna or higuruma or even sometimes Choso without someone coming to insert another character that has nothing to do with what we are talking about. If you talk about gojo canonically leaving his dreams to Yuji to carry someone will say “no akshually it was Yuta who inherited the clan 🤓☝️”
“Yuji taught Sukuna about love” “no akshually it was Gojo. No it was because of higuruma. No it was actually cause of Megumi’s memories.”
“Yuji helped higuruma to find the light again.” “No it was judgeman’s unfair sentence that changed his mind.”
Just one cope after the other. Then someone will still say Yuji fans are too sensitive and that’s why they hate us. When honestly I think we’ve taken the most hits out of everyone since the beginning of this manga and things only started getting better recently.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I also noticed the weird bias this fandom has against Yuuji as I've been here since 2024. Apart from the ships, you cannot even discuss Yuuji' dynamics with other characters properly without someone inserting their favourite, often tends to be Megumi and Yuuta.
I am still mad about the platonic carousel animation about gojo and yuuji (mind you, the creator ships itakugi) getting a lot of hate comments from Megumi and Geto fans saying it should've been their fav. These idiots can actually go find the same trend with their favs but no they are that entitled so they will demand others to cater to them. They also downplayed Gojo's bond with Yuuji.
This behaviour is also shown on other platforms like bilibili (but cn fans actually call those fans out more compared to en fans). It's sad that in this fandom, no-one bothers to read the manga but always love inserting their stupid hc and convince the whole fandom to accept that bs.
And then they all say Gege hates Yuuji. Idk man Gege did make weird writing choices but did Yuuji justice by the end. He is one of the best written characters from this series. It's them who keep giving Yuuji's role to other characters. I somewhat accepted that half of the fanbase hates Yuuji and it's alright. Not everyone understands peak.
One cannot enjoy jjk, especially its ending if they don't like Yuuji at least a bit.
