so MANY sukuitas started to make megumi and sukuna twins instead of yuji and i am thinking ppl are just too pussy to make it incest cause if you take out their core familial part thats not yuji and sukuna. i hate how a part of our fandom proving antis saying we are making them ooc cause even with megkuna yuji is still related to sukuna
Sukuita is sukuita with or without incest.
Sure the (soul) incest makes it spicier, more symbolistic when you consider Wasuke. But skit dynamic mostly comes from them having shared a body enough to affect Sukuna and, having ideology clash. The family relation (even then it's only soul relation) is a good addition which Gege made only near the end of the manga. If you were to remove that, skit dynamic will still be the same and won't be ooc, at least in my opinion.
Ngl I honestly haven't come across any megumi sukuna twins au recently. Like I've seen one fanart from a JP artist I love earlier this year. If more people are indeed doing it, what's the issue here? They're just exploring an AU with megkuna or probably like the idea of a love triangle between fsit and skit. Sorry but this is such an overreaction. No the fans aren't proving anything. They're just entertaining an AU among many other AUs.
I would like to confess that I found modulo extremely boring I read most of the thing through leaks
Yuka’s whole depression(?) thing was interesting and then gege killed her off for the entire manga(btw remember when people were saying she was the mc?). Cross was an interesting character (as an extension of yuka) and he’s also dead for the entire manga. Once you learn the aliens(can’t remember their race name sry) aren’t invaders but rather refugees gege has to pull a racist character out of his ass to create a conflict. Seriously there’s so much gege could’ve done and he took the easy way out.
Also iirc aren’t the okkotsu siblings fighting for each other or smth. Because I can’t remember a single memorable interaction they had. The first chapter was leaning towards maru-yuka, the next few chapters were maru-tsurugi, and there was that (really really good) yuka-cross chapter. Unless my memory hates me I don’t think yuka-tsurugi have any chapters dedicated to them on one-on-one interactions
I don’t remember what Maru’s motivation is.
“Where’s waldo (yuji itadori)” was nice to speculate on but then he actually appeared in the manga. I was very interested in uiui’s entire ordeal but then gege decides to reveal that information in volume extras and not the actual story.
There is no correlation between “refugees” and “eradicating cursed energy” I don’t know why gege decided to make that jump and considering the manga only had 25 chapters he really shouldn’t have
Every time I think about d*s *x m*r I want to cry
There’s probably more I want to rant about that I can’t remember rn
Side note I think doura and dabura is very 5u coded (read somewhere that doura was daburas mentor) so more fuel to the “gege should’ve made dabura and yuji interact” fire
Modulo definitely needed to be longer. Some characters should've have more screen time (like Cross and Maru) to have more emotional impact. But it's always meant to be a short sequel which is such a shame.
Hmm I personally like Yuuka, especially her relationship with Tsurugi. They didn't get one on one interaction a lot (compared with their respective Rumelian partner) but Yuuka's wish about being his little sis again before she drops at Shinjuku worked for me. I don't think Yuuka is the mc since Maru is the face of Modulo but Yuuka does push the plot forward when she convinces Cross.
The siblings were fighting over the ring. I don't think it was supposed to be a big deal? Bc the plot still required tsurugi to have the ring.
Yes I agree with your take about Ui Ui but I'm afraid this is classic gege moment.
Maru's goal was to find a new home. But then his brother got attacked. Maru got sidetracked bc of his unhealthy warrior mindset. Tsurugi V Maru may look unnecessary from the outside but it makes sense for character development since both became irrational after seeing their siblings get hurt. Then later Tsurugi withdraws (which is my fav part bc of Maki flashback). Think this is where the story started rushing, which is sad bc i love some parts like Tsurugi helping Maru come to an understanding (though i agree this scene was fast forwarded especially random Rika cameo).
Regarding deux ex harmony, I have to say i kinda like and dislike it. But it had to be something otherworldly like an OP ritual technique for the cursed energy removal to work. I also think it plays into the coexistence part well. Rumelians side also got affected by the ritual, making the future children not have the same contour of soul as the Kalyans. This subplot is unresolved as we don't know how Rumelians will overcome this since they all voted to not kill Kalyans. We may have another sequel...
I got sidetracked. What I'm trying to say is that both Rumelians and the Japanese sacrificed something to coexist, which imo makes the whole ritual thing more acceptable. But i understand if people think it's lame. It die come out of nowhere. 😭
It's not like Gege portrayed every Rumleian in a pure good light. Like some of them were idiots who resorted to violence like Osuki (who I later liked a lot bc fighting a Kalyan like human made him think). Actually I LOVE gege pulling out that racist character. I can understand why it feels cheap storywise but ppl like that already exist irl. So I think it's not far fetched as a concept. He was just there to escalate the situation.
Though yes I agree having both the cursed energy removal plot and coexistence kind of made Modulo convoluted near the end. Still modulo isn't that bad imo. Maybe you should give the whole thing a go.
Next time, hopefully gege will stop rushing when his story nears the end.
Yeah I also wish they had met. 💔
Me making up imaginary beef with moduyuu over 15 yuu because of how his fight with mahito went and him asking “were you always this weak?” I just always imagine a time travel scenario where moduyuu (before he reunited with nobara and panda again cause he’s still semi detached) travels back in time and meets 15 yuu but is absolutely disgusted at how weak he finds his younger self to be. No techniques just raw grit and blood. Injuries all over him and uniform torn. Meanwhile moduyuu barely ever breaks a sweat. Never even has to take his hands out his pocket and is lucky if his opponent is even worthy enough to get him to fight physically. He has two good long, mid and even short range techniques. He no longer has to endure such physical brutality or pain like that and in the event someone actually manages to touch him, he has one of the most efficient RCT in the verse and it’s quite literally difficult to put him down.
And I’m so protective over 15 yuu that I get defensive over it like stay away from him (to moduyuu) you don’t even know him like that. You haven’t known him for 68 years!
Lmao. Funny enough, I interpreted that line as Yuuji saying it to himself too. Though I cannot imagine Moyuu would actually say that to his teen self even if this is depressed pre Harmony Moyuu. And if he did YEAH I'LL FIGHT MOYUU WITH YOU ANON. LEFT RIGHT GOODNIGHT
Are there any interpretations of the text, characters, etc. that you've done a 180 on? Like, you believed one thing, but then changed your mind later.
Honestly many things because when I came back to JJK around 2023, I followed the hate bandwagon and didn't form most of my own opinions until late 2024. This is mainly bc I was hanging around r/jujutsufolk which was a toxic echo chamber and every post was nitpicky back then.
The biggest change was my perception on Megumi's conclusion. At first I disliked it too like how can a deuteragonist be left aside like this, he didn't even participate in the final battle. We didn't get the usual power of friendship (he only formed a puddle of shadow to distract Sukuna). I was also one of those people who were expecting Megumi's unfinished domain would come into play and that he and Yuuji would fight Sukuna in the innate domain or something. Then it didn't, I was also disappointed. I think it also came from the fact that Megumi didn't want to live for himself but for someone else again, which I took negatively.
Only later I accepted his conclusion made sense (maybe could've been executed better?). He was meant to be someone with lost potential as he never wanted the sorcerer life. I also discussed this with a lot of moots. If you take off the shounen lenses, Megumi's ending is pretty conclusive (not everyone gets a perfect ending. Seems like he will always be the type to live for someone else and it's fine). I was also pissed about Tsumiki being a plot device. Like giving her temporary screen time in the beginning would've helped us empathise with Megumi more. But I just kind of accepted the canon after a while (I still believe she should've been more present). His reaction to her death still hits harder.
I also used to hate Hiromi surviving the battle. I still do but it's not bc of him returning alive, it's just rereading the chapter where he 'dies' doesn't have the same emotional weight anymore now that you know he's alive. But later I was okay with him surviving because a lot of characters already died for their role. I think it's much better for Hiromi to face himself especially standing on trial for the murders he committed.
This might sound like I’m being dramatic but I really don’t like people calling Yuji homeless and broke in modulo. Saying he doesn’t shower and now gambles because he’s depressed.
First of all, Yuji has always gambled okay! Know your lore people. Secondly, why is it that it’s universally accepted that special grades get paid the highest. It’s already been stated by Gege severally. And there’s no arguments about them having the most money but somehow for Yuji it doesn’t count? Like I get he left Jujutsu high after Hana’s funeral but what kind of person do people think Yuji is to squander decades worth of salary on gambling. And it was funny the first time but Yuji fans also playing into it instead of telling people to cut the joke out is pissing me off. I mean no shock is mostly Yuji fans who are antis playing into it but it’s such a weird look on his character. Acting like he’s dirty and broke is sooo weird. I used to dislike how they also said the same thing about Toji. Like yes Toji is bad at gambling but to think he wouldn’t have money to buy a meal or shower because of it is absurd. Worst is when they use it for shipping material. I don’t care about what ship it’s being used for but the concept that someone wouldn’t shower for decades but would go out to gamble with others and no one would notice they are dirty just makes no logical sense. Moreover why would you want a dirty and broke person to be shipped with a character you like ? It’s so off putting and I wonder the day when Yuji fans would stop assisting in making him the butt of every joke in the fandom.
Yeah Toji got the same treatment too. I feel this type of thing as a joke is not so bad at first. But every joke becomes old. (If I'm not wrong didn't Toji hang around rich ladies? I'm sure they'd abhor if he didn't take care of his hygiene unless it's a kink thing)
Thankfully I haven't seen ppl making those jokes about moyuu on my feed. 🙏 Yuuji became the butt of every stereotypical joke in the fandom long ago. Not only shippers but even casual fans contribute to it. Like a jjk tiktok meme used HowToBasic vid and captioned it as "sukuna took over" but everyone in the comments talked about how it's not Sukuna and it's Yuuji the one who burns the kitchen and whatnot even though he canonically cooks and can teach someone else cook... Now we got depressed Yuuji so they gotta give him even more stereotypes regardless of canon.
Sadly anti yuuji fans are also people who enjoy such stereotypes whether it's him being homeless or incompetent. Ofc they will ignore logic and truthfully it's not a big deal. Every character in this fandom gets dragged but when shippers do it, it definitely makes me do the stink eye. Like we know who you are...
Honestly same. There are times I do notice something off about the writing but ignore it, thinking that's how the author's writing style is like.
I do remember one fic having so many inconsistencies. It couldn't get the eye colour of a character right? But ofc the most common AI writing habit is abusing the hell of out this prose (i dont know the term but a moot described it as rhythm-like prose) - not x or y but z.
For example: "Yuuji's pecs felt spectacular. Not too small, not too large but just the right volume to fill my hands." I mean normal writers use this too but AI LOVES it.
AI also loves using one sentence per paragraph for the dramatic effect (but ngl I am also guilty of this sometimes) and purple prose (overly dramatic and fancy).
But your method works too. I remember this one author who updated chapters frequently. I thought maybe they already have the drafts so that's why they're so fast. But their fics were later suspected to have been written by AI (they also had the not x, y but z prose).
I hate that we've come to an era where we have to become literal detectives to see whether we're looking at something made by fucking AI. 😭
Firstly, thank you for answering my question about multishipping 😄.
Secondly, I think I do get what you mean. There’s a certain appreciation we can have within canon setting already and the better the dynamic the better canon material we can use to ship but also that doesn’t stop your imagination from running wild with fanon especially when you already like the foundation of those characters already. So I could see why that wouldn’t really make one ship feel less true than the other for you and also the mood can set what you like more in the moment than the other. I completely get it 🙂↕️
But also just want to clarify I didn’t mean you ship every character with him equally I was more so referring to Goyuu, fushiita and sukuita. But thanks for going into detail anyway 🙂
Yes thank you! You put it together better than I did. But something the dynamic of one ship tends to be more complex than the other but that certainly doesn't ruin the experience of enjoying both.
Sorry I took it literally. 😅 I do love fushiita but I definitely have it a tier lower than skit and goyuu in my fav ships list. I still adore it though. 🥹
Would yuji play phanpara? Would he be a whale?
Teen yuuji no bc he'd be broke. But moyuu? He's totally a whale only for his favourite characters. For the rest he gambles with free cubes like a real gambler.
Do you agree that while Yuuji is a good person, he isn't exactly a saint, especially after seeing him gamble at Modulo? I’m starting to think that, aside from gambling, he also likes drinking beer and smoking to relieve stress when he's alone 🤧
Yuuji, I'm sorry i always think about you after jjk modulo end.
I thought I’d be okay after JJK, so I felt at ease creating fun AUs and fanart, but once Modulo wrapped up, everything just felt painful. Even seeing Elf Yuuji happy with Dragon Sukuna isn't enough to heal this painful. After all, I created this AU so Yuuji could stay with them without facing such an early death, and so he could use his powers to save more people.
That’s exactly why I made him so powerful in the fanfic so Yuuji would have plenty of time with everyone he loves so dearly.
Why does it have to be another 300 years—or even longer? Perhaps even if I were to die first, I would still love him.
Sometimes, this makes me reflect on the fact that he isn't a saint, even though he is as kind as a benevolent deity.
Technically Yuuji was gambling a teenager. But yes I LOVE the idea of Yuuji turning over to bad habits even though he cannot get drunk or drugged. Maybe if he tries to fit in with the rest, he'll able to experience that type of depressing life. Or he's just doing it for fun. 😂
Moyuu is so painful to look at me. But there are two wolves inside me, one wolf is sad but the other loves the angst. 😭 But I get it. I do hope for a sequel and maybe Yuuji's fate will be better if we see it in action.
Your love for Yuuji is beautiful, anon. I will continue loving Yuuji even if I'm a grandma.
Yuuji definitely isn't a saint. He's kind as just as he's imperfect.
skit au where yuuji knows sukuna will leave him but he doesn't know how sukuna would do it and becomes all sad and obviously sukuna notices this. and one night yuuji asks sukuna if he's gonna leave him and sukuna obviously says yes and inside his innate domain he can feels the brat's sadness and somehow that's the reason why he's rethinking about his plan on changing the vessel. sukuna obviously losing his mind because on one hand he really needs to do The Plan but at the same time he also doesn't want to leave yuuji 😌 -n
Sukuna in a dilemma 🤤
I think sukuna will do the same thing as the canon but this time he will bring Yuuji along with him. Forcefully...
Yeah it's gonna be one of the sad but spicy abduction AUs. I cannot imagine Sukuna staying with Yuuji. He won't be able to touch him with his real flesh. 💔
