all the people criticizing fic authors abt wanting comments r so weird 😭 i love commenting on fics cos i want authors to know how amazing they made my day/night 🥹🫶 no one is greedy for wanting a little affirmation 💗
It has been so crazy seeing the same people say how important fanfic is while saying the ones writing the fanfic aren’t important at all. I’m so glad I haven’t seen it from people in any fandoms I’m care about and feel really lucky we’re all being normal here but omg it’s shocking!!

wait. are you actually upset readers are downloading their fav fic writers works and sharing them between the community bc ao3 is down? cuz i don't see the issue it's not the like we readers aren't claiming those works as ours 😭 like are we deadass
No I’m not and I haven’t said that I am. Over and over again other authors have expressed that they’re uncomfortable with it and they’ve been met with the nastiest vitriol from people who supposedly rely on their stories so much they’re having meltdowns over the site being inaccessible. That’s the issue. There’s no respect for these writers (broadly, my fandom has actually been really great about it). My tweet, the one that has taken off, says absolutely nothing about the download option at all and yet no one is wearing their reading glasses and seeing my actual words, including you apparently — it’s about the horrible things people say about writers who dare to want interaction on their fics.

your little discourse is dumb as fuck i was talking to a published author last month and he aims to write about that much a day. he can do a first draft within a month if he works hard. he says he writes 5-6 books a year. are you going to argue with the published author that nobody is capable of applying themselves and getting good
First of all my post was about how no one was actually responding to what OP was saying. OP said 30 days of 10k every day. Every single response at the time of my tweet was not about those numbers. Some people said 1k in 30 minutes. Someone else said 80k in 3 weeks. And it goes on and on, everything BUT 300k in 30 days. And just like all those people apparently you can’t read either.
An author who writes 5-6 books a year first of all probably writes garbage. Let’s just be honest. Second, this authors job is being author. If you could fucking read, OP is talking about 10k edited and polished and posted words every day while also having a separate full time job.
The literacy crisis has you and everyone else in a damn chokehold.
