qotd. whats the weirdest trend youve seen online? i saw a trend where men were cutting off their eyelashes to seem more masculine... ok mate. have fun getting dust in your eyes
i saw a trend where people were sanding their teeth to make them even, but that actually will make them crack in the future 🙏🏽
Idk if you guys remember, but there was this app called R@ndon@utic@ that encouraged people to explore their surroundings. It sounds innocent but allegedly some people go to the places the app suggests and end up missing. Im gonna be honest. I feel like it’s a hoax but at the same time it could be true. Rumours are the app is linked to the dark net etc and it’s used to kidnap people. I won’t rule it out because who knows? But at the same time, I feel like it makes more sense to just say some of these people may have just gotten lost. TikTok has a habit of making up stories for clicks and views as this is the age of monetized content all over the place. Either way I think it’s strange to hear something like that and still think “Hey, let me download this and go to a strange location I’ve never been before because the app told me to.” Like what. Then again… it could be a PR stunt or promo.
Idk bro, probably like 'make my partner scared of [insert]' it makes me just mad when its taken too far because bro should not be fearing the word lulu
I dont own tiktok so my exposure to trend usually thru youtube commentary video
The recent one would be "brothy rice" trend since...it's basically what every rice eating countries has been eating since childhood? Like the concept of rice + soup is not new (arroz caldo, gumbo, nasi soto, gukbap), calling it "brothy rice" not only makes you sounds like a five years old who dont know a dish name it's also erasing certain cultures. Again, those people can eat rice with soup but it will be preferrable to call it "arroz caldo inspired" or "simplified gukbap" rather than gentrified brothy rice
If i were to uno reverse it with western food, you bet my left arm they would look at me weird if i were to call burger as "meat patty sandwich" or fries as "crispy potato sticks", you get what im saying?
