he’s said and agreed? enabled? bigoted comments about shane behind his back but nothing is shown in text to indicate he’s said these things to shane’s face iirc. i can’t imagine he didn’t spew shit to him on ice in the name of chirping and being a general pos pre rm/tlg supports this but rr didn’t go into any detail about this anyway so most discussion surrounding the whole shane and troy thing is optics and extrapolation due to what we know of troy’s character in tough guy/role model/the long game especially considering his best friend was dallas kent. i think with books like these bc there’s so much telling and not showing it gets easy to get lost in what Could and Should happen due to the going ons in this universe but again a lot of it is circumstantial evidence or extrapolation due to both the nature of the interpersonal conflicts between these men and due to the nature of hockey culture overall!
