ough cedric how they butchered our beautiful princess with a disorder… he just looks too plasticy… too smooth… the more I look at his jawline I despair…
The style overall looks a bit too plasticy which isn’t a great mix with the weird ass uncanny gen 5 mlp mouths. Makes me miss the more painterly look the old show had. While the animation is probably a big step up I will miss the awkwardly charming style the old show had.
When I’d read over blogs of the various artists of the og show it’s fairly obvious they were heavily inspired by the classic 2d animated movies. It was so cool getting to look over not just storyboards but color keys and pencil sketches. While it wasn’t all translated to the show 100 percent I certainly saw the attempt.
But hey. Current state of usmerican animation is just like that sadly. Can’t really hold it against anyone working on the show.

It’s a good sign craig gerber is still involved in it. While he does make it clear he’s been a bit nerfed by the network I believe in him… I hope most of the other writers are still there (like Laurie Israel) as well! I think ppl despair a bit too much when it comes to the show not immediately focusing on characters/scenarios from the prev show. And ppl forget that it was going to be a spinoff with original characters. While it is Sofias show, the three new characters will definitely have their own arcs ahaha.
Disney on occasion does recognize the popularity of their tv shows (look at the Disney afternoon favs like gargoyles and darkwing duck getting comics. And more modern favs like amphibia and owl house getting the graphic novel continuation treatment). stfs pilot movie was a big hit on d+ so like… idk i can imagine a bunch of lil kids tuning in and i can imagine grown ass adults who watch cartoons for babies also tuning in. Since cgs bsky hints very strongly that more callbacks are possible in da future… billions must watch… (waggles my fingers) you will watch… I need to see wormy back

Can’t say too much on the three new characters cuz a lil teaser can only reveal so much about them but I do think they’re very cute! Do they have magic jewels too?

Charmswell seems like a new school created by the three fairies complete with color coded buildings! Eagle eyed viewers spotted a potential building for miss nettle… I hope she and cedric have cunt-offs…!!
I do wonder who would run royal prep in their stead… with cedric getting fancier robes and already having a knack for teaching… perhaps?
Cedric has such a cute new outfit… I like the pinkish colors muahaha. Matches Sofias amulet AND provides a funny parallel to goodwins red robes. To match with Winnifred’s and Sofias purple dresses… ahahaha. Ahahahahaha~~~~~~~~~~
To go back on Cedric and nettle I do find it very interesting how the two share similar backstories. Magic users turned evil due to being unfairly treated only to turn over a new leaf and eventually change their fates with the help of a magical princess… I wonder if they’ll help sofia change her fate in return.
Also ngl I would love to see the more magical aspects of stf. Elena was already mighty op I’d like to see sofia become the hydrogen baby. It’s funny seeing sofia rack up all these big roles at such a young age. Very wish fulfillment. Love it tho. Mightiest princess of the realm with her loving sorceress wife (craig gerber if you can hear my voice you will do the right thing. I believe in you.)

While I like to portray cedric and sofia as predator and prey animals, it is more as symbolism rather than something literal.

I think Cedric’s feelings towards Sofia are a bit more complicated than that. I feel I differ from a lot of the “problematic” (I kinda hate this term and even using it out of necessity kind of sucks) community because I just don’t really want to think of cedfia as pedophile/helpless child. Because it isn’t. But trying to “subvert” it as “oh but Sofia is in charge 100 percent she can order cedric around as she pleases” is also similarly tone deaf.

There’s jokes to be had, especially with season 1 cedric ofcccc… but when it comes down to it Cedric’s feelings towards Sofia come from a genuine place… she’s truly changed his heart by the end and I just don’t think it’s fair on either to boil down those feelings to pure exploitation.

Thoooooo disclaimer I am aggressively picky about cedfia fic… i do not remember liking it too much lmao. This will sound a bit pointed and mean but i remember a tag stating “don’t fuck teenagers btw” and I found it rather patronizing. Tbh I wish I can reread to be more thorough on why it didn’t click with me but alas. Lost media I guess lol.

I used to get super scared about posting online mostly because of potential backlash. And not gonna lie! It’s annoying when internet cops choose to be a little bitch about it instead of just getting over it! But after a couple accts I end up missing reading over interactions with friends more than like how many interactions my stuff gets lol.
Personally I don’t really care if I see my art being reposted or whatever. I’ve had it happen. I’ve seen it happen. But I guess I personally just don’t really care. I know others do. But idk for me it’s just a part of posting online. Gotta take in the good and the bad. I just feel out of potential reactions, reposts don’t bother me.
