well, i'm going to rip the answer off my old retrospring to answer "why cell?":

but as to why fedi in the first place? well, i was stranded in sg during The Pandemic and the internet spaces i was hanging out in were turning kinda sucky. i never tried a "microblogging" platform before, so fedi was a new thing for me. stumbled upon shitposter.club, liked the community, joined.

years later i would meet alot of fedi friends IRL and have a great time, so all in all it was a net positive for me!!
