Yes i agree that ksy's solo career is mostly his choice. Yg or winner may have a part in it but in the end it's him. He had all the chances especially 2020 onwards. There could be many reasons, maybe he just didnt have much ambition for it or else he would have pushed for it. He has enough popularity especially with his kms stint. It could be he's also not ready, or confident enough yet. Or he is waiting for the perfect timing that in the end he is just delaying it. And this could be traced also to his perfectionist side. We have seen enough from yg to know that there's 2 sides to releasing music - you are given more opportunity if you have the marketability (which he has), and if the artist wants it for themselves - having the drive to do it.
yes I agree that seungyoon's solo career is mostly his choice, but if you think about it a bit you'll see that yg and winner shaped the way he sees himself as an artist. from the very start he was boxed in, told to set aside his guitar and god knows what else and that definitely left a mark. I think he found safety and happiness in winner, nothing wrong with that but he poured himself into keeping them together even if it drained him. at the same time, he did have all the chances especially from 2020 onwards and if he had pushed harder solo we would've seen more soloist seungyoon :/ like you said maybe it's his perfectionism, maybe fear, or maybe he's just not as ambitious for a solo path as we thought but these are results of what he has been through in ygent. I wish he was in an environment that nurtured both sides of him because his talents are honestly wasted if he doesn't get the push both from himself and from the company. therefore seungyoon please leave and go to therapy 🙏

leaving yg isnt automatically a golden ticket unless you’re bp or bb level, its a really tough path and we’ve seen many examples already. seungyoon knows the industry better than any of us and he’s making the choices he feels are best for both himself and winner. he’s carrying so much while yg fumbles so instead of blaming him we should appreciate how much he does
I appreciate his efforts since the start but let's not deny they had the chance back then to let go while they were still known and thrive both as a group and solo acts. now like you said, it'll take a miracle to make it outside ygent (and even in ygent lmao) but I still believe seungyoon can thrive solo if he makes the right choices now (by leaving first cuz clearly ygent isn't for him)

I honestly want rock! I will never change my answer because he would win me back with a rock or rock folk album. I also want him to use his low register as much as he can and experiment with storytelling lyrics. (AND STAY AWAY FROM RAPPER FEATURES!!!) and to answer your 2nd question, I think it's going to be a full album since he said he'll give us page 2.0 idk

honestly… winner tours now hurt seungyoon more than help him. group activities feel less about elevating him and more about keeping the weaker members afloat. sure, it guarantees jinu and hoony stages and income, and seungyoon just lets it be out of group loyalty, but as a yoon stan it’s painful to watch him carry the weight while being held back 😔 free seungyoon
tbh if you told me this years ago I would've agreed bc as a yoonit I hate seeing him not give the same energy to his solo career as he does with winner. I wanna blame ygent but part of it is on him too. it's clear the 3 of them wanted that tour regardless. if I were him i'd focus on my solo album first and maybe do fanmeets or seoul shows, not a whole tour. and the way he's acting lately... it really seems like he has no plans to leave ygent if he cared about his solo career he would've fought for it. (and sorry I thought I answered this but I guess I didn't)
