What is the final deadline for check In
We're planning Check-in 1 for January 2026, Check-in 2 in February, and Check-in 3 in March. While exact dates aren’t set yet, they’ll likely fall within the first week of each month.
The final submission deadline is March 31, 2026!
Any updates or changes will be announced on our Carrd schedule.
What is the difference between page and spot artist?
Page Artist creates full-page illustrations that occupy the entire space of a page (A5 size). These artworks are typically the main visual focus and are often used as standalone pieces or to accompany a writing.
Spot Artist creates smaller illustrations, often used to complement text or decorate a page. These artworks do not fill the entire page. They may take up a quarter, 1/3, or half etc.
Hope this helps!
Hi! i'm interested in this zine but this project looks pretty high risk as of right now :( will you share interest check results with everyone? i can imagine you want to start recruiting contributors but i will personally not apply until i see your art and finance mods (since finmods can usually gauge the fate of a project w interest checks!). I feel like a lot of things are not being handled properly so it's hard to trust the mod team rn (schedule, IC results, etc). Hoping you can move forward!
Hi! Thank you so much for your honesty. It’s totally valid to want to wait and see how things come together. We still in the process of finalizing our mod team for art and financial mods (Our app is still open, but if financial mod doesn’t gain any app., our current mod team with experience will take over this role). I know those roles are important for gauging the overall direction and stability of the project. We hadn’t planned to publicly share the interest check results, but we are absolutely okay with sharing them if you find that helpful. Thanks again for reaching out!
Hi! I'm interested to apply for this zine, but I was wondering if you have a fixed schedule for the pitches and creation period? The carrd only lists them as TBA. I wanted to see how it'll align with my schedule before I apply. Thank you!
Hello, contributors application result will be sent on 11/24 with pitches due on 12/5. Creation period fall in December - March 2026 for final piece due. We will update our Carrd! Thank you!
Im not sure I understand the difference between "bundle" and "copy". Also I could only order from **. Anyway it sounds like a cool project, I'll stay tuned <3.
A copy is just the zine book itself, and a bundle meant the book and the merchandise. Regarding shipping, we do ship globally (from U.S) but stay tuned regarding preorder/purchase stage in the future as you can message us directly regarding your question. (Sorry, I wasn’t exactly sure I understand the question). Thank you for your interest in this project!
i strongly with the previous ask. i really want to support and participate in this zine, especially because there‘s been so few lads zines but i don‘t see where this is going without proper mods with experience, i would feel worried as a participant.
The zine is still in the early process, mod applications are just currently open, and we are looking for people with experience who can be trusted.
Regarding the financial mod, I (ok_qiq) am currently in that role, but if the community feels more comfortable with someone else, I’m willing to step down. I will open a new application specifically for a financial mod who is both trustworthy and experienced.
For Shipping mod, our shipping mod is also serving as the production mod. In terms of experience, the shipping mod has handled both international and U.S. domestic shipping for packages and letters. While she has not managed zine shipping specifically, she has successfully overseen multiple package deliveries and merch productions from manufacturers.
If you have more questions regarding the mods, feel free to dm me on Twitter or the mods itself on Twitter. (Mod information is on Carrd).
I truly want this zine to succeed. Since there aren’t many community events for LADS, we wanted to create something enjoyable for everyone. That said, if participants don’t feel safe with the project, we are open to feedback, critiques, and changes.
If you only have two mods, neither of whom have ANY zine experience, you need to either find more mods, ESPECIALLY for finances and shipping, or you need to make this a free digital zine. Saying it will be "well-managed" while having nothing to support that is absolutely meaningless.
We do find the reason for your worries. I might not clarified myself correctly regarding “well managed” as we did not provide you any information to support that claim. We are currently opening mod applications for this zine, and willing to open multiple mods positions in the position your worried in. But please dm the mods ( information on carrd) for more information toward your worries in experience.
do the mods have any zine experience? especially with finance and shipping?
We currently have two mods. While this is their first time modding a zine, both have prior experience handling finances and shipping, so those aspects will be well-managed. We are looking for more mods to help out in this zine!
what do you mean by „the mcs apprearance will be hidden“?
Since the MCs are meant to be interpreted differently by each individual, they won’t have a set appearance shown in the artwork. It’s similar to how, in writing, the MC’s physical description is left open so readers can imagine them freely.
is this specifically a high school au zine, or is it school in general (college, etc)?
It will be school in general, high school, college, etc. It is up to the contributors, how they want to approach it!
