I really appreciate what that metaphor was trying to convey...the idea of a painful but necessary first step that prepares the way for healing. But using peroxide is factually ironic, it's cytotoxic, damages healthy tissue, and can actually delay healing and increase scarring. It's no longer recommended. I hope this doesn't come across as criticism...I truly appreciate the metaphor and I'm such a fan of your work. Saying this openly as MirrorCrush (cuz i'm not a coward, we just don't use the same socials)

I don't take it as "criticism" as much as I do "education" and I never turn down the opportunity to become more knowledgeable, however, I am aware that peroxide eats away both good and bad bacteria while damaging healthy tissues. My metaphor is still soundly just, though, because peroxide, as you mentioned, slows the healing process and therapy is a very slow process.

Therapy is peroxide. It burns, surfacing both the bad and good, slowly blurring out the bad while tainting the good through response and experience.
