qotd: a deep one but do you think humans are inherently selfish? imo i think we are and even if you say you aren't that is still kind of selfish. everyone is somewhat selfish even if it is small

Yes. And the thing is, this is becoming more and more noticeable with our current society. Selfishness Itself doesn't have to be an inherently bad thing. However when people act selfishly to the detriment of others, and they do it willfully/intentionally/knowingly, they show that they also lack empathy for the people around them. They showcase a casual cruelty, because it is better that it is you and not them. You can act selfish and help someone because the act of recognition is what makes you feel good. Selfish, but also betterment to others. And then there are those as mentioned above, who look away. Who see the suffering and think, better you than me. Who might even join in and support the cruelty. Who go to bed telling themself it is better this way. I find those people to be the most spineless, pathetic, sheep mentality minded individuals. People who lack not only empathy for their fellow humans, but also lack integrity, critical thinking and are inheriently duplicious and not to be trusted. Sorry I rambled a bit too much there and lost the plot
