Are you doing okay? If you could have someone do one thing to help you feel better, what would it be?
HEH no
but im trying my best ay
honestly. just commissioning me is already a lot
being sure that i will have money for food and rent always ups my mood heh
donations were cool as well but i dont want to beg
so yeah, comms are a lifeline
How do you use the time in each day to make art? Like is one day dedicated to studies and another for commissions etc? Or like maybe you do a little bit of everything each day?
i wake up i draw till i cant anymore thats legit the strat
well, lets say 99% im doing comms because need to make them moneys and have food on the table
when i can i try to do studies, and i guess i will do them more often now for sure, since i enrolled in an art course and now got. homework......
but yeah my art routine is not very healthy and it will one day kill me but heh what can you do ay
do you have your commission info up anywhere? I kinda want one but idk if i can afford it or if it would be smth you'd do and i'd hate to ask just to waste your time 👉👈
I reeally should make like a commission sheet or something but im such an ass designer i dont want to embarrass myself
BUT! anyway
1. never a time waste for me to answer the commission questions
2. the price for a solo render usually around 120$ and everything else goes from there depending on the complexity of characters, setting and the overall idea
But yeah, to know a price for sure always better to just DM me
WAAAAAAA I LOVE YOU
waow thank
do you have any fave movies? i feel like you have really good taste and i need more recommendations! lol
Oh man do i ever
Although there might be a lot of well known ones and i probbly wont be able to remember everything i like, but still
Mysterious Skin (2004) movie and book both awesom, Lost Boys (1987), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) although the 00s remakes are also kinda fun ngl, Leon The Professional (1994) fun fact once i decided to watch it every day for a month to see if i will get tired of it. i did not ,3 Idiots (2009), The Thing (1982), Trainspotting (1996), Dead Poets Society (1989), Stand by Me (1986), But I'm a Cheerleader (1999), Peeping Tom (1960), X and Pearl(2022) are great but MaXXXine is kinda mid ngl, but worth a watch, The Outsiders (1983), 10 things i hate about you (1999), The Cure (1995), Bottoms (2023) is very fun, Billy Elliot (2000), The Boys of St. Vincent (1992) is CRAZY how did they manage to film that. im in awe, The Breakfast Club (1985) forever peak cinema, candyman (1992) tony todds voice does things to me , Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010), the evil dead (1981), The House That Jack Built (2018) is great if you go into it thinking its a comedy, Fear Street trilogy is awesom, legit every single Scary Movie , The Jurassic Park Trilogy, love the whole Child's Play/Chucky franchise. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) is my №1 feel good movie for whenever im feeling down, Moonrise Kingdom (2012) , Videodrome (1983), The Fly (1986), Nightcrawler (2014), Scream franchise for sure but the first one is still the fav, Train to Busan (2016), Carrie (1976), It (2017) but the second part actually kinda sucks idk, Saw (2004), The Basketball Diaries (1995), got the biggest soft spot for anything teenage highschool stuff from the 2000s like Sky High or Hightschool Musical or Easy A or she's the man and so on, House of Wax (2005) loved it since i was like 6 and accidentally saw it. Vincent Sinclair my actual babyboy, got a real softspot for Silent Hill (2006) even though its like. does not really handle the ingame lore that well BUT THE VIBES!! THE VIBES ARE GOOD. we dont talk about the sequel.
The Black Phone (2021) im obsessed enough to have grabbers mask tattooed on me. 2 times, , Brainscan (1994) the way Eddie Furlong in this movie looks so much like my character Eddie (heh) will forever be crazy to me, Malignant (2021) is fun aaand idk lets finish it off with Don't Breathe (2016) and the sequel (2021). team blind grandpa all the way
im sure i forgot like a billion but at least thats something ay
How long did it take you to get you current skill level as a painter and what would you recommend to someone who i currently learning values and how to apply them
Well, i draw since i was like around 12 or so, so its basically been --- 13 years if i can count x) So.. a pretty long time, but to be honest i did go on a few depression indused hiatuses when i didnt draw for a few years, so my progress for sure got hindered a bit because of that
As for the values -- studies are always you best friends i would say, at least thats what i do when i feel like i need to up some specific skill (be it studies from photos, movie screenshots, other artists , whatever strikes your fancy) (but it also good to know what you want to get from the studies and not do them mindlessly/just trying to copy, but to actually understand whats what. Also if you want a specific vibe/look for your style - you try to find something that fits your vision. Sometimes i want something more artistic - i go for old masters, sometimes i want something more realistic - go for casual photos, if i want something more dramatic - pro photography or movie screenshots and so on)
Also its good to watch some educational content on youtube from any good artists you know, i often watch lads like Marc Brunet, Jackie Droujko, pikat, Ethan Becker etc , these lads always have some good advice on different topics
