I don't have big interest in it...! Whether I see a sibling bond as suspicious or straightforwardly platonic is distinct to me. You have Asriel & Chara/Kris who seemingly cannot FUNCTION without the other and lose all will to live and come up with deranged schemes in order to maintain or regain connection. Or you have individuals like Sunny going insane and repressing into a fantasy dreamworld where the ghost of your sister you have trapped inside you will always have a picnic ready for you. I like intense dependency, evidence of the inability to 'move on', complete and utter mental breakdowns.

I suppose Noelle's sadness towards her sister's disappearance is not to suspicious degrees to me; a comprehensible amount of grief & then of course, the listless unrest that comes from having no closure, not quite knowing if she 'left', 'disappeared', or 'died'. This suspends her in a purgatory. There's no answers, nothing to 'accept'. She's not gone Insane from it. She is Coping. She is certainly damaged from it... she thinks about 'disappearing' too. It's not small. But it's not yandere, do you know what I'm saying....?

I don't personally see it as a loaded relationship on its own, or inevitably coming to a head. In proper sibling incest, you either inevitably MUST have sex, or you kill yourselves/each other/the world/trap you both in purgatory. Chara/Asriel, Amane/Tsukasa....

There's also an odd element where it seems as if Dess wanted to encourage Noelle & Kris to be involved ... ? The ferris wheel ride somehow 'forced', and Dess hanging up a picture of it ... ? Combine this with Noelle suggesting she suspects Kris was always just 'going along with what she [Noelle] wanted"... so I don't believe either had possessiveness of the other. Dess seemed to have been again, a normal amount of protective and loving. Not quite as dependent as we hear Kris & Asriel having been.

Now I DO think there is Weirdness when you discuss the entire Holiday & Dreemurr dynamic, maybe a childish concept of symmetrical futures and a combined family ? And possibly a messy, muddled mix of feelings scattered amongst the square of participants, which I would call STRANGE and ABNORMAL. I could see them as always planning to live together, in that childish way. I doubt Dess would have ever wanted to leave her sister behind, being so protective.

I also think boundaries between Legitimately Close siblings are interesting and titillating. I could see Dess showing Noelle Slasher flicks that contain sexually explicit or suggestive scenes, sneaking these around their parents, odd nights sitting side by side watching a girl in a flick get a knife flickered between her skinny legs. Watching MTV, Springbreak, Girls Gone Wild commercials. Ambiently horny around one another, sitting in silence some nights staring at a screen. But does this manifest in sexual tension between THEM? There is a kid with a knife who chases Noelle around, and I suspect Dess & Kris had a dynamic of their own. I don't really perceive a desire to molest each other! Though it is desire forming in proximity to one another.

Now there's some layer to discuss in Susie resembling Dess in some way, but I think seeing this as 1:1 with an incest vibe is not quite right... I think there's comfort and familiarity there, but it is important that it is a different person, everything that distinguishes Susie as Susie. I also think Noelle feels that same sort of thing about Kris, the parallel family rascal who caused problems, like Dess was. I think this is why Carol is fond of Kris, missing that energy.

My current impression of Dess is that she was... defensive, guarded, postured brash confidence but was troubled, insecure, secretly sad, only a Facade of Coolness, and perhaps couldn't always express earnest appreciation without shame or embarrassment (I take the text hidden in the game's code to be her). In the same way Kris's silly rascally-ness may have masked their sincere adoration of their friends. And so, friends like Noelle doubt Kris ever even liked them.

When I think about... anything with Dess... with anyone... it is an uphill battle. I'm not sure even she knew what she wanted, before she was plunged into darkness... and I'm not sure anyone knew the 'real' Dess (and who had the closest picture...? Noelle, or Kris, or Asriel...?). Whatever I vaguely imagine with her... I imagine it hidden in obfuscation, games, nonsense, jokes, bullying...

I like to think of weird shared experiences with someone like Kris or Asriel... like uh, Dess wanting to push Kris towards Noelle (who likes Kris), but also repressing vibing with Kris & what goes unsaid between them, or in denial of Kris having a crush on her (my crazy interpretation of the weird 'Kris bringing burgers to the oneesans' story... ). I don't really think. Noelle would be possessive of Kris in this kind of scenario glfgj;dfkl;gfjlfdl;kh like Kris is Everyone's weird pet dog, aren't they? I would like situations where like, Noelle & Dess are both essentially doing pupplay with Kris between them, Completely Platonic And Normal Of Course, Nobody Is Horny Here. Everyone letting eachother 'get away with' something.... indulgent, weird... Kris getting to bark and chew on ankles, Dess getting to scold and clip a leash, Noelle getting to pet and reward with treats. The air could be THICK with STINK!!!!!!!!!! And everyone could be Allowing this to transpire. Is this incest. BIIIG questions. And I think about. The Popular Party Game Snugglebug. Which would be WEIRD to play with 2 sets of siblings, but maybe everyone is just sort of OK with that blurriness, in order to get away with something.

Sometimes I think a sibling being there creates a smokescreen of "of course it's Normal right now, my Sister/Brother is here and THEY wouldn't be going along with this if it wasn't Normal". A thought like, "I'm a total freak here getting flustered by this stupid game, OBVIOUSLY everyone else in the room is just Playing Around!! It's just ME, it HAS to be because DESS/ASRIEL would not LET it keep going if it wasn't ........................ normal..........................."
