Do you like Zootopia? Curious about your thoughts
Not at all... my, thoughts about most late disney/pixar productions are the same, which is "seems like this was juggled around an executive room into oblivion" visually, stylistically, and storywise. Its like.. not a modicum of inspiration to be had here. Like most of these highly-corporate productions, there isn't a reasonable theme or intimate personal story to be found.. it is no one's baby, it is no one's perspective, it is no one's vision, it is like a vapor. It's not art to me.
My tweet about the sequel was just ah, that obviously much like Frozen 2, Disney as a company Extra Double doesn't care about franchises it would rather not be as popular as they are, and it looks like it's just going to loosely stitch together a bunch of disparate scenes into something resembling a movie. It's diminishing returns from already diminished returns... sawdust.... it's fascinating how nothing something can become.
My original contribution to the world back when I first saw Zootopia is probably just uhm having had thoughts about Judy trying to connect with Bellweather as a fellow small subjugated herbivorous woman. I thought that would be interesting post-movie, but unfortunately Judy really isn't compassionate or interesting enough of a person to empathize with a convict....
man every time any of these movies though obliquely are about someone obsessed with their career advancement I get like, a cold dead feeling in my chest. It's like when the CN shows start being about people going to college or getting really slay grades in wizard class or something. Truly haunting...
