i am substantially less attracted to “perfect” smiles, like by a considerable amount because my obsession with teeth is really entirely based in my attraction to humanity!!! i love love love acne, skin texture, body hair, and anything that creates subtle differences between the people i meet. i think once you learn about teeth, or even just appreciate them, you start to notice those differences in every single person you speak to, and there’s an intimacy to it all that i’m fond of. a lot of the traits we see as bad in regards to teeth are just the stories and details of a person’s life that show when they smile. that yellow staining could be from the morning coffee they can’t go without or their favorite wine to drink with friends. maybe it’s from the same cigarettes their parents always smoked and they’re just carrying on a tradition with that and their matching crooked canine. there’s depth to each of the imperfections, and i’m always going to prioritize that over straight edges!!!
