mæm don't leave us (or atleast me) the details, i wanna knoww what it is 😭 https://twitter.com/realvibehater/status/1965065046574412281
oh! we were discussing about setting boundaries with clients. you know how there's an audio on tiktok where harry styles says "it's a big night tonight my therapist is on the house"? i asked my prof if in situations like that, where, say, your client is a celebrity or artist and they invite you to their concert, is it unethical to go? cause we're not even allowed to say hi to clients when we see them in public lol what more diba pag aattend ng concert nila diba?
my prof's answer was that the concert invitation counts as a "gift" kasi. it's not advisable to accept gifts from your clients, so she said if we accept the invitation, we should tell the client that the whole clinic should be gifted tickets too para walang bias. or better yet just buy the tickets yourself. i thought hanggang dun lang but apparently in our next class she told us she talked about it with some colleagues and they had different answers! one of them said na we can also accept the gifts to boost the client's self esteem and confidence, because we may validate their feelings. for example: paintings, sculptures, but we can't accept very extravagant ones!
napunta pa nga sa topic na if we were ever invited to their wedding is it ethical to go? haha ang interesting lang cause the answer was different for each psychologist. but the consensus was okay lang to go, basta hindi mag ninang! hsbahkbsha yun, i hope that satisfied your curiosity.
