OKAY I HAVE THOUGHTS ON THIS.. i think he would definitely avoid even talking or thinking about that dream and make himself busy with other things. like an overload of hobbies and work to "compensate" that failed dream to the point he crashes mentally and probably physically too. it hurts to even think about that dream that almost became real and he punishes himself by trying to excel in other things.. he's extremely ambitious so this is definitely something that messes him up and it's almost like he puts on this persona of "everything is fine and i'm having fun" while that dream tortures him in his head all the time. the fear of failure haunts him at night and he's not himself. he doesn't feel like himself at all and the dissociation takes over him
