hi dreamwidth user rhodochrosite i think your posts on akam are incredible... i was so happy to stumble across them while perusing your page for dream content because sometimes it feels like there's exactly two (2) akam shippers in the whole world (i know they're the most popular non canon dc ship. but still.) i love reading ship analysis in general because its really fun to see how other people perceive the ship dynamics i've built up in my head from the source content and my own perversions. your thoughts on akam were so genius and articulate and the term hostageshipping really describe them so perfectly..... if i had the time i'd just be quoting you back to yourself for days but i just thoroughly enjoyed seeing them through your lenses like rei really is the 0 ever... akam truly is so fucking sexy because rei loses to akai the time and still doesn't stop trying to have leverage over him. sucks for him but it makes me really hard so. lmao. i'm only talking about how hard it makes me because if i tap into the narrative angst and tragedy i will genuinely pul the trigger. dc is so fucking tragic for a show i was exposed to since i was like. 5. also i really liked your thoughts on shinshi! you're right they're the most romantic nonromantic pairing ever. their workmarriedisms and underlying tragedy is so perfect and hurtful. haibara clutching conan crying about her sister rewired my brain at age 8. haibara is my 1pick so naturally i'm biased and hate shinichi for being a dumb fucking teenage boy who will never pick up on it and do inconsiderate things to her feelings like saving her life and reassuring her and saving her life and finding her silly football player keychain for her to cheer her up and and and. but her unrequited feelings r so special to me because they add such an interesting layer to her interiority and their dynamic. even though i didn't like the movie 26 kiss in itself as a narrative choice (not that movie plot points matter but) what she did after surfacing (kiss ran to "return" whats rightfully hers) struck me really hard. she thinks shinichi belongs to ran unequivocally and that she shouldn't get to keep the kiss to herself even though it was just to save shinichis life. it still meant something special to her girlish heart.... argh.... my favorite girl ever... anywyas i forgot what the point of this ask was and just rambled on about dc because i never get to talk to about it to anyone... but really thank you for writing (the dc posts, but also in general because your words r lowkirkenuinely gold to me) and i hope you have a good day always.
