Yes. I think loyalty becomes complicated when honesty and compassion stop standing on the same side. Sometimes a friend doesn’t need brutal truth in that exact moment; they need time, softness, or someone willing to shield them until they can face things themselves.

But I don’t like lies that live too long. Eventually, honesty has to return to the room, even if it arrives quietly.
