Sort of. It’s not a fundraiser or charity but a nonprofit organization called Best Buddies. You get paired with a buddy, someone who suffers from intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities. Some of these people have no friends, people they can’t talk to on the phone, or hangout with on weekends. Best Buddies ensures that they do not go through life like that. Because they know they’re different and people pity them. We don’t want to make them feel that way. At least I don’t. I started in 2018 and me and my buddy are still friends. We even graduated together. I love that guy and I know our friendship means a lot to him, so I make it my priority to make sure he knows how much it means to me too.
