yess, i'm not sure if i can give you any helpful tips because i personally am a shy person AND very awkward so people approach me first when they want to talk (still trying to fix my social issue sigh) but maybe you can start off from asking their interest or maybe ask how their days go i feel like that's how you get closer to people (and gossiping with each other that works too lol)
