i feel like my thoughts on mike are divided between canon and fanon now. yeah, i was both a will and mike fan (still am, just... differently?) but clung to mike's character in the hopes of development. i've said it before but had he gone through a queer arc, i would've related to his journey a lot more. that's why i "stuck" with him for so long, i guess.

but canonically, i'm not a big fan of how he gets into problems and the solutions are either that other people fix it for him or he apologizes only to do it all again. he doesn't make sense; his character is a product of backtracking, retconning, and overall lack of care. that isn't to say he doesn't have good moments in canon because of course he does. i do like to take his canon character, especially the mike we see in the epilogue, and think that he grows. he was only young, even when the story ended, so i do see him changing for the better and finding himself

& there isn't actually much to glaze when they didn't give us much to work with
