okay let me put you on because i thought the exact same. i am so picky with what i read and recommend, and can hardly (if at all) be considered a smut reader — i really prefer the long haul type fics — but i gave this one a chance and. it really didn't read that way at all. it's genuinely a miracle and i think the author put crack cocaine in that fic because it's really good

i do see how just the dialogue alone may read in the way you suggest, but the author describes everything else in such an easy-to-digest and fun way that the dialogue doesn't stand out for the most part. so i would say give it a shot, like. at least until chapter 3 or so, and if you don't like it, then you don't like it. no problem in that

you'll probably find the couple dirty talking a little cringe, but that's literally the intent so i would recommend not giving up when that happens
