i honestly think they’re just really bad at communicating 😭 like at this point in their lives, i don’t think they’d actually be a healthy fit for each other. they do love each other, that part is obvious, but their relationship in this au started off kinda shaky from the beginning. everything was built on assumptions, missed timing, and them never saying what they actually feel out loud. instead of talking things through, they just keep bottling things up and unintentionally hurting each other. and sometimes love really isn’t enough if you can’t meet each other halfway, you know? i feel like if they stayed together now, it would just turn into more misunderstandings and quiet resentment. so yeah, it’s sad, and i totally get why it feels unfinished since their love isn’t finished, but i think it makes sense for them not to end up together here. that’s why i chose to end it like this :( but… who knows maybe in a sequel au (hint hint) they might finally get their happy ending 👀
