Agree with previous anon about SM stans hating on riize and participating in the boycott just to sabotage them, especially nct fans did it imo because sm stans have this mentality that the new group will replace the previous groups. It happened with red velvet fans hating on aespa and so on.

i love aespa myself a lot too, so I was honestly surprised to see a lot of mys like cheering when riize lost music show broadcasts and stuff but its definitely just like you said. sm breeds a very competitive us-against-the-world (even junior groups from the same company) mindset for pretty much all of their fanbases
