I’ve been staying home for 3 years ( I go out sometimes but not a lot I can count them on my fingers ) I just finished online uni and I made new friends and we had a lil meet up yesterday I was so anxious I kept blurting out random words and stuttering like I was a whole mess and they noticed at the end of the day , and told me that I was never like that online , so now idk I’m scared that I’ll be like that everywhere even when I start a new job I feel like it’ll be easy for people to use me
i don’t think this means you’re gonna be like that forever. you’ve been at home for years, so of course being around new people again is gonna feel overwhelming at first. talking to people online and meeting them in person are two completely different things, so don’t be too hard on yourself for being nervous. honestly, the fact that you went is already a big step. it’ll probably get easier the more you do it and one awkward day doesn’t define how you’ll be at a new job or anywhere else and being anxious doesn’t mean people can take advantage of you either, so try not to let your mind jump that far ahead
