hello hello again! i got the notif that my order had shipped (yippee‼️‼️) and it reminded me to head on over here and see your response. but that makes sense! i will say that i think clone merch tends to sell well, but i will readily admit that i might be biased because cody is my FUCKING GUY and i buy anything i can find with him on it. anyway! out of curiosity, do OT characters not sell as well, or are you just not super interested in adding them to the GP lineup? ((also out of curiosity, did the prequel plushies sell well enough to potentially do more SW ones in the far flung future? i hope so, but i also wouldn’t be surprised if simply not enough star wars fans are enlightened enough to want their faves as marketable plushies, so i’m glad i had the chance to grab one))
sorry if my questions are annoying! thank you for indulging me 😅
Hi again :D Hoping your order gets to you with no issues, thanks again!! Your passion for Cody is noted 👀 I think my OT characters did okay but my ST/PT characters definitely sold way more! I would LIKE to have more variety because it's nice to see when people get excited that their favorite is included, but of course that will cost more & open up the risk of stagnant inventory, so I have to be careful not to bite off more than I can chew. My personal favorite is PT/CW so always expect me to make something of that era lol. The main factor as well is that I struggle to stay motivated & get fatigued quickly, so I want to make sure I'm making things for media/characters I personally like and not getting too swept up with trying to please everyone 😔
The prequel plushies did OK... I had an interest check for them that made me believe they'd sell a lot, but when the time came I had sold just enough to pay for their production & was stuck with inventory for about a year. My posts for them didn't really reach anyone until much later when they'd already been sold off slowly. I was also really unhappy with the quality of my bulk; I had to do a lot of manual clean up so it took more time to pack those orders which sucks a lot. ((I also stupidly decided to add blush to every single one of them so that was crazy, never doing that again)) But that means I won't ever restock them as I'd have to start from square 1 with another manufacturer. It does suck that everyone seems to want them now when they're gone but that's just how it be... I've just been under the impression that the SW fandom is not interested in plushies and prefers pins, but now it seems to be shifting.
Star Wars is very near and dear to me so I've been thinking about trying again by making mini plushies in the future because I also personally enjoy the smaller form factor to take with me to places + I've found that they're much more manageable to pack for orders!
Your questions are not annoying at all, I really appreciate your curiosity and I'm happy to talk about it :>
